Land of the mildly insane

Because I adore Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi I'm attempting to watch the first ep of their new comedy, Vicious.

15-minutes in and I'm having to pause before going on. I suspect this may fall into the 'Labour of Love' category of TV. Has anyone else watched this? Am I missing something? Hmm, let's see how things are going by the time credits roll...

So, you know that scene in How to Train Your Dragon where Toothless finds the equivalent of catnip for dragons and is all purring and being inappropriate with the grass? Well that was basically me and this ep by the time the credits rolled.

( SPOILERS for the ep, and of course 'unicorns'... )

So, now we wait for the next ep. Is it back to being next week or is there another wait? In any case, I will be here, SPN, when you are ready to return.

Where the hell did that ep come from...

Non-spoilery reaction in 2 parts:

1) Nesting.

2). All. The. FEELS.

Rock on next ep.

Am preparing to climb the wooden hill. Not looking forward to it as I'm waking tomorrow morning to what is going to be a miserable day at work. Well, the morning anyway. Next time I will read the small print as I'm sure I don't remember signing up to be canon fodder. Ah well.

Things that are keeping me cheerful though!

x. SPN - this season has really sucked me in. And the latest ep (batcave!) left me happily flailing and clapping like a well-fed seal. Props to the writers for somehow, SOMEHOW, managing to create a world where potentially there could be a happy ending for the Winchesters. With their bat-cave. And Dean out hunting as he loves. And Sam being the book person back home as he loves. And all their minions and friends *cough*Cas*cough around them. I mean yes, I'm sure this bubble will be promptly popped next ep, but for one ep, this ep, we can dream :)
x. Cabin Pressure - I've finally caught-up on this radio comedy, the 4th series is currently airing, last ep due next week. And I am LOVING it. Wonderful writing and a brilliant cast bringing it all to life. I will be channelling its Arthur tomorrow morning as I face down the canons, one cannot truly shoot down the ridiculously eternally optimistic.
x. Mr Selfridge - can't quite put my finger on why I'm enjoying this so much, but I really am. Again, a spot-on cast is keeping my interest every week, kudos :)

That and the news that Colin Morgan will be play Ariel in The Tempest this summer will leave me with plenty of happy of thoughts to see me through the night.

Somewhere a Clock is Ticking by anonymous over at fv_poster for the BBC's Shakespearean The Hollow Crown.

Just a beautiful, beautiful vid showing how the tales of all 3 kings remained connected from beginning to end. There are some lovely parts in particular showing how even after his death, Richard continued to haunt his successor/deposer Henry. Definitely worth a watch.

Or perhaps to be a bit more specific: who here doesn't mind being potentially spoiled with regards to Loki and Thor 2?

Just spotted this charmingly titled link in my wanderings: Major Loki Spoilers Revealed In Thor 2 By Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje & Kurse

The thing is, there's 'major' as in "Did you know Mordred comes back this series?", and then there's major as in Shawshank Redemption/The Usual Suspects ending spoiler-y. I don't mind the odd, obvious plot point, but not the point of the entire arc :)

ETA: Ah, true friendship is taking a potential spoiler on the chin so your pal doesn't have to. Thank you, esmerelda_t! And to anyone else wondering - t'is a good 'un, I wouldn't call it 'major' given that half of it is speculation on the interviewer's part. And the rest isn't really unexpected :)

I have many feelings right now, but in short I'm tempted to give it 10/10.

1) Their love is epic. And forever.

2) There really is only one appropriate response right now. Watch this vid, raise your lighter, and drink a toast to the show of unicorns and rat stew.


And if this vid doesn't give you future reunion/reincarnation/fixit/whatever fic feels, there's no hope for you :)

One of the best series on television this year, if not the best.

Yes I have just watched this series finale. There was honestly not a single weak link in any of the characters by the end. Oh my heart.

Apparently no solid word on if there'll be a third series. The screenwriter Abi Morgan has said she would love to do a S3, so we'll just have to see which way the BBC decides to go.

Until then, I'm going to sit here and drown in my many many feelings on that last ep...
