Hmm, so if a DVD lists its region as 'Free', does that mean it will play on any DVD player. Or does it mean that it's one of those home-burned ones that will only play on a DVD-burning machine?

ETA: F**k it... If you are about to reply with 'NO DON'T DO IT!' please hold for a while... **toddles off to get conned out of hard-earned money**

Just out of curiosity, what are you buying did you buy?

Region free can be played on any dvd player, I believe. While it could be a bootleg - or copy - I do think some manufacturers are putting out region free dvds so they can sell to anyone. I have one or two of these, and they play just fine.

Oh well. If the item was cancelled it's probably a good thing you didn't throw money at it. Better luck next time. :o)

Technically it means what it says, there's no region on it, discs don't come regionized, it's put on by the corporate pigs so they can control markets and the like, Ive got a couple of old silent films on region free dvd and they play alright on my crappy dvd player, if it says it's a region free dvd, you can probably assume that it is, otherwise it's be called a vcd or something.
