Rec me a PC!
Jul. 8th, 2007 12:24 pmAlong with having to move down south for the new job, I have to finally look into getting myself my own desktop PC. At the moment I'm looking at Dell simply because the mother got her computer from there and it isn't completely pants and frankly I'm not too impressed by PC World.
Still. Can anyone rec me or give me a warning off any particular companies as being good/bad for desktops? Any general advice on what I should be wary of or looking for?

Date: 2007-07-09 11:29 pm (UTC)I am on a bit of a budget so Dell are beginning to look like the most likely option. I do like the specs for the HPs and you're right, we did used to have one and it did outrun the others easily, but they are more pricey and less memory. I'm also tempted that Dell let you have Windows XPs, not just Vista - I'm a paranoid thing and the spawn haven't been too impressed with the new Windows on their 'puters. Hmmm, decisions, decisions...

Again, thanks for all your advice, it's good to learn what all these figures and specs actually translate as!
