No. Really. It entirely is. Her and The White Room. It's all their fault.

Behold the drabble with no reason/plot/logic/good taste. It just is. *sulks*

In the rather long period it took to regain their breath, the abandoned argument returned to the forefront of conversation.

"I’m sorry, Doctor who?" asked Wes, as if coherent speech had continued until only seconds previously.

The man beneath him gave a smile that redefined smugness. "I believe I was trashing your childhood literature."

Wesley snorted, looking sternly down into that grinning face. His hand retightened its grip, fingers tangling firmly in the brown hair; his companion managed the odd combination of both gasping and letting out a delighted laugh as his head was tugged back, throat left gloriously exposed.

"I give you a second chance to take that back," Wes said in a low voice, lips and words grazing the jawbone.

"Oh you can-"

A few seconds later and Wesley drew back, smiling innocently down again. "I’m sorry, I didn’t quite catch that amongst the ‘Oh God’s and the moaning. Could you repeat it?"

Knox shot him a reproachful look. "You are evil."

Wesley’s smile turned wicked in a heartbeat. "Perhaps," he agreed pleasantly, this time a hand snaking downwards. "Do you have a problem with that?"

Knox simply laughed, letting the moment last for a little before firmly rolling Wesley over. "You’re not playing fair."

"And?"

"When a fox is in the bottle where the tweetle beetles battle with their paddles in a puddle on a noodle-eating poodle, THIS is what they call . . . a tweetle beetle noodle poodle bottled paddled muddled duddled fuddled muddled fox in sox, sir!" Knox enjoyed Wesley’s venomous glare before asking sweetly, "Your Mrs Blyton have something to equal that, heathen?"

Wesley ran the sentence through his mind one more time before asking, oh so grudgingly, "The name again?"

"Seuss, Doctor Seuss to you."

This was greeted with considering silence.

"Rhymes and beautiful use of language aside, does your Seuss have spanking?"

Knox blinked.

"Naughty behaviour was always properly punished in her works. It’s a wonder she got it past the censors." Wesley’s mouth twitched in the beginning of another grin. "Shall we call that a draw then? Unless of course you want to go again. In which case, ball’s in your court."
