SHIELD and SPN
May. 15th, 2014 01:53 amSo I am up-to-date with SHIELD and SPN.
Was that the finale of SHIELD? In any case, oh, it left me a flailing flapping mess of emotion. I screamed, I cheered, I sobbed. Ah, the happiness of the fulfilled nerd. Roll on Season 2 - I am ready.
DIRECTOR COULSON!!! OOOH YIS =)
How much do I love that he is our surprise avenger.
And much as I do love Ward, oh it was satisfying when May finally put him down.
Oooh, and yes, I am intrigued by Skye. So potentially we have another nature/nurture plotline heading our way. Hmm. Hardly new when it comes to Marvel, but I do genuinely like her so I'm happy to see where this leads.
And YES. I cried for Fitz and Simmons. I love he finally declared his feelings. And I also love that this didn't mean automatically she said she loved him back. At least, not in that way.
SPN. Well, as always tends to happen they pull it together in time for the finale. Yes of course the show has its shortcomings, but for the moment I'm happy switching off my brain and watching my favourite characters chew up scenery and generally be epic.
Just one spoilerly comment about SPN: Much as I ship it and happily see it/read it into every possible scene on the show, I will admit that if I'm 100% honest, I really am not expecting Dean/Cas to ever become canon on the show. Of course I'm always hopeful, but for the moment I'm assuming it will remain a pipe dream.
Which might be why my reaction to one particular scene was -
Metatron: [Cas]'s in love.
LB: OMG...
Metatron: ... With humanity.
LB: *breathes again*
Who knows, maybe I will have to eat my hat by finale time, but I'm glad it wasn't this ep as I'm not sure my heart could have taken it given the mess SHIELD made of it :)
In conclusion: who else is pinging off the walls about Peggy Carter getting her own series :) Given the revelations of Winter Soldier/Agents of SHIELD, they have plenty to play with. Rock on.

Date: 2014-05-21 07:04 pm (UTC)I suspect we will see Ward again. Part of me wonders if he'll be doing the long-term Faith-esque arc of eventual redemption, or whether he'll be their Lilah (occasionally have to work with, but never trust her too much). Although I haven't been much in fandom, it didn't seem like any of the characters were particularly unpopular.
That said, it certainly found its stride as it went along. So yes, I wouldn't be surprised if they continue reshuffling characters now they have a clearer idea of the overall flavour they want. Plus, of course, some of the actors may already be ready to move onto pastures new if they haven't been firmly tied down contract-wise.
Anyway! All that rambling is my way of seeing I really have enjoyed this show and am definitely looking forward to seeing what the new season brings! :)
