Jaguar are using the tagline 'It's good to be bad' to launch their latest car, and have managed to land Sir Ben, Mark Strong, and of course the Hiddles as their line-up. The ad is slightly wonderful and if any director anywhere feels inspired to use this trio again in earnest I for one would be a very happy soul :)
Going back a couple of years to 'before-he-was-famous', or to be more precise 'pre-Thor', somehow from some forgotten vault, someone unearthed Tom's old audition tape. The one where he tried Thor. Yes, the one where he tried to bulk up only to be told afterwards to please debulk because they had other plans for him. I think my reaction was the same as most, i.e. bless him for trying, but they absolutely made the right final decision for Thor and Loki.
My reaction might have been a little less contained for the other 2 videos that hit fandom today, both from Thor 2:
Firstly, of course, was the deleted scene of Thor and Frigga discussing Loki. Even knowing what was to come, it is sad to hear Thor speaking like he has truly given up on his brother. And in terms of plottiness, it does change the mood of Loki and Frigga's scene as it's no longer clear if she faded away purely because he touched her projection, or if she let herself vanish but remained watching him, or if she withdrew purely because Thor interrupted. So many thoughts and feelings on this family *wibble*
And then, finally, we got to see what Chris had been talking about! Yes, that moment where Tom shamelessly stole the opportunity to fanboy and shoot a scene in the official Captain America costume. Admittedly the costume does swamp him a little, but then again it was tailored for Evans. And to be fair, where the spandex does cling it does seem to hint to a very nicely put together form underneath. And having seen the Hiddleston, um, profile during Coriolanus, I would like to reassure anyone wondering that any virtues are definitely there by the merit of their owner, not just by wardrobe knowing how to tuck and shape a costume :)
