Just trying out some HTML...
Sep. 10th, 2004 03:41 pmPosted this a while back over at wesleysc, but putting it up here too :) Basically it's a list of all the virtual season 6's of AtS that I know of being written. If you know of any more, please point them out! :)
Note: Hope people don't mind the warning signs attached, but... *points at LJ interests*, no offence meant, but he is my favourite character, LOL.
ETA: updated 29/01/05. Unless stated, all series are still active.
ETA: 'Updated' 23rd September 2005. I've basically just revisited these sites and brought the apparently still active series to the top. Also, I am *not* listing RPGs. But there are loads of post-NFA games out there, if you want an idea have a look at the ones with folks like
ACTIVE:
AtS No Limits:
- in continuous prose format. Devised and written by a group of writers from LiveJournal, including TheBratQueen, Flaming_Muse, MadPoetess, etc. In other words it's being done by some of the best writers I know of.
Now starting to get towards the end, we're on episode 18 out of 22. And damn, do we have tension. Wesley is still dead, but also walking and apparently trying to help Angel as of old. I say apparently because a few eps back there was the most delicious evil twist. Suffice to say, finally, the whole gang is once more working together as they unite to take down a common enemy. *sniffle* I still suspect all is not as it seems, and there will be heartbreak...
Heroes:
-in continuous prose format. Written by
Warning: No Wesley.
Mutant Existential Scoobies:
- in script format. This series has recieved glowing reviews from all who've read it, and from what I've seen it's well deserved. It's only because I am so terribly shallow when it comes to Wes that I'm not hooked. But the writing here is very good stuff.
Warning: No Wesley - although, that said, I quote: "... gone, but not forgotten." I most certainly agree!
Angel: The Virtual Series:
- written in script format. So far, things seem to be on-going. Nice mix of pictures and colour in the script which makes it easier to read. Technically Wes does eventually return, but given the circumstances you don't see much of him. Still, he is there to add a bit of spice...
The Destroyer: The Series:
- written in script format. A post-NFA series featuring Connor and Faith. Starting five months after that scene in the alley, it follows Connor as he tries to adjust back to normal life even though he now remembers another life entirely. Still going strong :)
Well, obviously, but anyway... Warning: No Wesley.
Spike: Soul Survivor:
- written in continuous prose format. Spike gets his own spin-off. He leaves LA and sets off on his own journey, and en route will meet folks from both the AtS and BtVS worlds as well as completely new characters. And of course, he will also en route pick up his two new sidekicks. Still going, new ep due in October.
Warning: No Wesley
Assumed Dead:
Ice Visions' Season 6:
- in script format. A writer from the Angel's Soul Spoiler Board. Three episodes done. The writing of Illyria is very good, particularly when she's sparring with Spike. Worth reading.
Warning: No Wesley. Well, true but also not. He is in the first ep, but not in the way you might expect... :)
ETA - no new post to date, assumed dead.
Angel Renewed:
-in script format. A group of writers also from Angel's Spoiler Board :) They wrote two virtual seasons of Angel ReVamped - incidentally a series well worth looking over - a while back to great applause. When news of the cancellation came through, they decided to try their hands at another season, this time post Not Fade Away.
It starts with a telemovie, Never End that solves what happened in the alley and gets all the key players in place. Then the season begins. They're all written in script format and you'll need to scroll through the archives to find the older eps, but they are all there!
ETA: They've just opened a new portal site which gives you access to all three series at once, as well as providing a link to a board where writers are invited to link to their own virtual series. :)
ETA 2 - 05/Jan/05 - announced that series will not be continued. There are however over 10 eps written, so still worth investigating.
The 2nd Evil's Season 6:
She starts with a piece called 'Sins Of The Father' that is her alternative ending to Season 5. She then begins Season 6 with 'Rubble'.
Again in script format but very, very worth reading. For one thing she has the most inspired twist on how to bring someone back from the dead. And for another, she manages to create a truly likeable and original character, Peter, which is no mean feat.
ETA - no new post since Oct '04, but writer does say she will return at some point...
Cyber Season Six: Episode One:
- in continuous prose. A more recent start, with just the one ep so far. It seems to have a nice Angel/Wes undertone, which naturally makes me very happy. In fact, to quote one of the writers: 'We are *so* about the Wangel.' Hopefully this will keep going as they have a good team.
ETA: Technically this one is 'pending' as there is a new ep planned, but the dreaded writer's block has for the moment stalled it. Still... *fingers crossed* Watch this space :)
Survivors:
- in continuous prose format. One ep so far, introducing an OC who joins the survivors of AtS and BtVS.
Warning: so far, no Wesley.
A Mango A Day Keeps The Shanshu Away:
- in continuous prose format. Written by Ramses 2. So far, so very wonderfully funny. Spike is a blast as he and Illyria try to explain things to the rest of AI in the first ep/chapter. Wesley is there, arriving amidst wonderful chaos that had me and Angel utterly lost, but me still loving every word.
Angel Season 6 - by Spaz Kid:
- written in script format. So far only two episodes, but good so far. Both eps got good reviews, and I mean actual reviews - which is saying something considering the kind of reviews you can get on ff.net. Connor is present, so is a familiar villainous face who we thought we'd seen the back of... Should be fun.
Warning: No Wesley. Yet...
