Another solid if unremarkable episode this week. Though for me the main thing was suddenly realising that our Merlin and Arthur are most definitely all grown-up now. Something about the way some of the shots were framed made them finally really look their age, i.e. adults rather than very young men.
I approve of this look. It may continue. Ahem.

Date: 2012-11-26 09:47 am (UTC)Thought I had was interesting to see them have an ep where they were hardly together at all and their interactions weren't directly about each other - it was rather odd. Good but odd. It made me think of the discussions we've had about fans of SPN who don't like the show when Dean goes and Same goes off in another direction.
This ep felt like they were quite seperate.
I definitely enjoyed it though and also is it me or is Gwen taking every opportunity to flirt with Sir Leon? :P

Date: 2012-11-26 10:10 pm (UTC)I agree with the good but odd statement. Though I suppose it did also make the important points that your only chance of getting to Arthur is by going through Merlin first. And as Merlin says, he needs no sword (which was a great line :) )
And oh Gwen. Much as it's possibly unintentionally hilarious watching Angel enjoy chewing scenery being evil, I'm about ready for that plot point to resolve somehow. But yes, she does now seem to be taking an extra interest in all the knights at the moment. Can't say I blame her, she has a new wardrobe and she must flaunt it!
