Well it's good to have this back. Though I did laugh and roll my eyes through most of it, I still enjoyed this ep.
Firstly.
For the love of god. ENOUGH with the flashbacks, I swear they were one second away from having windchimes and swirly screens with the number of wistful stares heralding another look back at the previous year.
I continue to like Sam. Not enough to actually care about the dog/vet storyline as it stands, but I'm sure come the 'reveal' I will go "Awww" or otherwise give the appropriate response.
Dean and his demon-y companion. Moving on from how that final telephone conversation sounded like some epic gay love affair had gone down in Purgatory, I am intrigued. I'm guessing that Dean killed Cas, or at least stood back and knowingly let it happen. Not entirely sure what exactly they got up to in order to bust out, but I am looking forward to finding out over the coming weeks.
Oh and yes, I did like the implication that in the end Dean actually appreciated the 'purity' of Purgatory. After years of moral dilemmas and the like, I can see how it must have been refreshing to know that your biggest decision simply kill or be killed, safe in the knowledge that the creature you're killing is 100% demon.
And Cas... Oh Cas. Yes I suspect things went horribly tits-up in the end, but I like how even Cas' absence has a massive emotional effect on Dean.
Crowley? Ah, Crowley, how I have missed thee and thy snark. Please don't be a stranger in the upcoming weeks.
And Kevin, and his new haircut, is adorable. Thumbs up to him thus far.
