So my non-spoilery reaction to SPN was: Hmm. Not Bad. Solid 3 stars out of 5. Roll on S7 *ahem*.

So my first reaction as the credits rolled was 'MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA'.
Oh Cas. Oh how I loves the arc you have gone.
I have been pondering how exactly it would go down. I've learned that humans can be corrupted to such an extent that they become demons. As Cas didn't have a soul this seemed something unlikely to happen to him. The other option was for him to 'Fall' and, whilst this may still happen in the future, I wasn't fully convinced this would be the ending this season for dear old Cas. Which then left the question of what third option was there in terms of 'downfall' for our plucky angel. And lo! SPN came up with a nice answer by going back to basics, i.e. power corrupts. Not a demon, not an angel, definitely not human...
Is Cas 'evil'? Well technically no but he's definitely not the Cas that Dean was smitten with. (Oh and Dean's little face when Sam skewered his feathery friend. Awww.) Hats off to Misha; he did a great job with subtle changes in the voice and posture to keep Cas recognisably Cas whilst still making him creepily new.
I am in 2 minds about the news that Misha will not be a regular in SPN Season 7. An immediate reaction is: WOE!! I will miss Cas and Dean's epic showdowns of manly emotional constipation *sniffle* A more delayed reaction is: Ah well, that won't actually change much. Cas hasn't been in every ep this season (during which I almost bailed again but never mind). Plus if he is to be 'The Big Bad' for at least some of the season then logically you can't actually see him every. single. episode or he loses the surprise factor.
My long term prediction is that we will get Dean's Cas back (although knowing our luck it'll be for a short instance before he dies 'redeeming' himself) and that it will be Dean who orchestrates the change. I wouldn't be surprised if at the very end Cas does finally, properly fall. Still. We'll see.
For now my main concern is all those souls. We've been told the risk is that they make their vessel explode which could take a good chunk of Earth out in the process. Dean's re-iterated the concern that the souls need to go back before the eclipse is over. Plus any 'Big Bad' needs to be depowered a little bit if they are to stick around for any period of time (same thing happened with Ilyria in AtS) so I give Cas not long at all before he loses some, if not all, of his newly acquired powers.
There is also the matter of Sam.
Seriously, is that it? After all the tears and wailing and gnashing of teeth over the wall not coming down, are we now saying that actually he's fine and dandy after a quick saunter through his own subconsciousness? To be honest I'm not complaining if that really is it and we can move on, but I'd be surprised if the writers really are done with it given he's one of the show's leads. In which case is he going to (yet again) become an issue during S7 once they've semi-dealt with the Cas?
Questions questions.
Back to the lighter stuff.
Balthazar: NOOOOOOOOO!! Why, gods, why?!! I will miss the snark. Although it was also a very good indicator and forewarning of just how broken Cas had become by the end.
Crowley: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY!!! *releases balloons* The demon-y snark lives to snark another day and I couldn't be happier. Oh how I liked Crowley's 'stage exit', he is quick to realise when the game is up.
Raphael: BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! OK yes I know Cas did a bad thing but I found it funny, Cas does hold a grudge doesn't he.
Lady-whose-name-I-cannot-remember/Bobby's ex: Shame. She introduced such a nice concept before promptly dying. So not all creatures from purgatory who come through are out to eradicate humanity. Nice to know. I would have felt more sympathy for her had she made an acknowledgement of the vessel's son she'd left to rot in that hospice but never mind. Whenever I've watch SPN it's been in desperate need of shades of grey when it comes to demons/monsters, maybe this time around it'll make a serious go at getting those lines properly blurred.
Although her line about being OK with the demon but being unable to handle 'the angel'... Oh Cas. You break my heart.
For now I think Earth is safe. It's going to be Heaven and Hell that will be getting a major spring clean. Where Earth could be in for trouble is when Cas decides to try and make things 'better'. For all that he's supposedly fighting for Free Will I can see him trying to take some big decisions out of mankind's hands for 'their own good'.
In conclusion:

Mwhahahaha...
And have a few links.
x. 'White Blank Page' - rather nice vid chronicling the rise and epic flaming fall of Dean and Cas' friendship.
x. Some rather entertaining 'meta' about what Cas' new state means, and some longer words by the same author here.
x. Another fun vid, basically a summing up of badass!Cas throughout S6 :)
SPN, you have me back for now on condition of some good angel-y/demon-y things happening in S7...
ETA: Oooh poll Time! Over on SpoilerTV.com they're at the semi-finals stage of their 'TV Romance Competition' and for once I actually know some of the couples they are talking about.
In Group A: it's Booth/Brennan (Bones) vs. Dean/Castiel (SPN).
In Group B: it's Chuck/Blair (Gossip Girl) vs. Kurt/Blaine (Glee).
Go vote, you know you want to!
