In a nutshell, my reaction to this week's Merlin is this:

So remember how back in the day of Series 1 and we all flailed over Lancelot and it was just one long ep of everyone being love with everyone and there were sunshine and kittens and unicorns everywhere? This episode was basically like that only a bazillion times more concentrated and love-filled.

It should also be noted that this was the first episode Bradley got to keep his shirt on. To be fair, the alternative for this week garners no complaints from this corner :)

OMG! Merlin *so* had an enormous boy!crush on Gawain this week! It was a most chucklesome episode, and went some way to making up for last week's travesty. I mean, I like a fart joke as much as the next 6 year old, but you can take it too far... ;o)

Hehe, yet again it seemed everyone had a bit of crush on Gawaine, with the exception of Gwen. Have to admit I am ridiculously fond of last week's ep too, farts and ears and all, but then again I am but a simple soul and when you have the light shining through Merlin's ears and Arthur losing his shirt again I'm a happy camper :)

Okay, I'll admit that the donkey ears were made of awesome! As soon as I saw them I thought 'give it a couple of hours and there'll be fic involving those babies'!

I loved this week's episode. So very funny. Also, Gwaine didn't annoy me as much as Lancelot does, so bonus points there. Also bonus points for looking very good with his shirt off.

I think the Merlin producers have finally got the hang of the concept of 'fanservice', hence the lovely shirtless shots every week. I'm not complaining at all, noooo sir.

As for last week? I stopped watching after fifteen minutes. My cringe threshold is too low to be able to cope with the sheer panto that was the goblin episode. (Ironically, I adore real pantomime.)

It was entertaining with knights losing their shirts wherever you look, plus Gwaine did have fabulous hair even if he never got quite as awesome a cloak as the old-timers like Sir Leon. Production have definitely cottoned onto this 'fanservice' thing, with this eps and the Quest vids I'm definitely being kept happy :)

Gwaine (WTF with the spelling Aunty Beeb?) was lovely and needs to be back in Camelot and shirtless as much as possible pronto. *G*

The spelling of his name does pain me, but then again considering the various interpretations of the Arthurian legends in general I suppose a slight tweaking of spelling is one of the more minor tweaks I can accept for this series :) And yes, here's to us seeing a bit more of Gwaine before the credits roll on ep 13!
