It's been a gentle but pleasant weekend. Today was spent enjoying the sunshine and showing folks a bit of Oxford (though we kept on being distracted by the pretty shiny shops). Over the soup I mentioned the existence on YouTube of a screen-test with a young Paul Newman and a young James Dean.

Feel free to ponder this for a few moments. Yes the levels of pretty are obscene. And yes the chemistry between them is a thing of beauty. (No surprise really that apparently there are now claims that the two of them were together for a while).

Anyway, I promised I'd pass on the link: here it be, come see the metaphorical sparks fly :)

I think that was pretty much my reaction, even upon rewatching. The chemistry is just obscene and frankly should have a shrine built to it :)

BTW there's a Dean biography where he's played by James Franco, the resemblence is really strong here.

And oooh! I will try and look that out, or rely on you to supply me somehow during our Bala tour. James Franco is someone I would like to like, if that makes any sense at all...
