F**king hell almighty.

I am aware this will make sense to no-one unless they have also been a fan of The Thick of It and like me thoroughly enjoying the current series. And in particular Malcolm Tucker. I was recently mildly crushed to find out that there was no Jamie MacDonald this time round, but having just seen the latest ep I have to admit I can see why the pitbull had to be kept at home.

MALCOLM!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! *cries*

Okay yes he can be a complete and utter cunt with no apparent ethics or morals to speak of, but fuck it he's Malcolm Tucker and the government needs him.

I did like how whilst all the government was breaking out the champers we saw Nicola Murray being the one person who seemed the share the audience's disbelief and 'Oh shit' reaction. Malcolm was one of the most competent people left, and now they're sailing solo.

Oh, and how much did I love him roaring back in and getting everyone to leave Sam alone.

I believe him. He may not be back in with this government, but whatever, this government is going down. But I think he will be back some other way. He's Malcolm Tucker, no way have we seen the last of him.

Plus, you know, the 'TO BE CONTINUED...' tag gives me hope...

I was so relieved to see the To Be Continued as I was also all, "Noooooo", and I loved that tiny little glimpse of actual humanity when he yelled for them to leave his assistant alone.

The 'To Be Continued' is my beacon of hope until we find out what happens next Saturday! And yes, I loved the smallest glimpse of possibly the only example of genuine loyalty in Whitehall when we saw Sam and Malcolm in-between the end credits. It's been a nice story way way waaaay in the background this series that she is the one person he is consistently nice to and is always there for him.

In a way it makes perfect sense though, incompetant people annoy Malcolm so he'd never hire anyone who was incompetant. She's good at her job therefore there's no need to yell at her.

That is a very good point. She's probably one of the few people who is in Whitehall with Malcolm's 100% approval and who, in his opinion, deserves to remain there.

I have to admit I can see why they couldn't have Jamie around this series, that final stand-off was so horrid because Malcolm was so on his own, no loyal second-in-command to keep everyone terrified when his back was turned.

Yes, Malcolm will be back. If only to personally shoot Tom and the rest of his cabinet down in flames.

Malcolm and Sam was the highlight of the whole brilliant series for me. Great stuff.

I'm going to add you, if that's okay, seeing as I always need more people to get too excited about Merlin with, haha.
