Heads-up, and actually not just for ye Londoners, but basically anyone with an interest in folk and with easy access to London.

Free concert in Trafalgar Square, Sat 25th April. Part of the St George's day festivities. It starts and finishes early (12.30 - 18.00) and will feature, among others, Eliza Carthy and Seth Lakeman.

Eliza Carthy. Seth Lakeman. For free. I'm game if anyone else is :)

Ooh duude, let's do eet! I can't cark Seth up twice in a row, can I? And we can figure out who has the best cheapest last train home option and retire there afterwards, maybe?

ETA - I just saw the times, even better! Not to mention if we are all efficient like, I know a brilliant place all of five (brisk) minutes' walk from Trafalgar Square where we could get an excellent late breakfast to fortify us for standing around numpty like for a few hours / retire there for mid-afternoon refuelling if necessary. It's about off the beaten track enough that we'd have no problem getting seats. Also, best coffee in London!

It's on, let's do it! Mine may have to be a day-trip only as I've just realised the family may be invading (again) that weekend, but details details *waves hands* we can clarify nearer the time :)

And late breakfast sounds perfect! And definitely I think there will need to be a mid-afternoon respite. Unless I get utterly swayed by the intervening acts, I'll mainly be there for Carthy and Lakeman and prepared to sacrifice some of the other songs if it means saving my feet for a few minutes. Yes I know I'm a heathen.

And I've just noticed the line "He'll be bringing his band, and planning a few surprises..." I'm intrigued...
