*sigh*

The boiler is dead. Cue no central heating and no hot water. And the weather forecast is saying we'll be about -2/-3 degrees C come Thursday night.

If all else fails, my plan is to go to the pub and get totally ratarsed so I can't feel the cold. It'd be good for the local economy so I could even feel virtuous about it.

For the cold, I recommend a convector heater; they're very effective and relatively cheap. But agree, you're going to need pints of grog to cope with the cold water.

*sends you blankets*

Not good! Going to the pub sound like a plan and hopefully by the time you sober up your boiler will be fixed.

Yoinks! My advice - retreat to bed with extra throws, a hot water bottle and a pint of sloe gin!

Oh noes! That is bad timing. Poor you- the pub sounds like a very good idea!

Does your stove or oven work? When I was without heat and hot water for a few days in this tiny apartment in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, I had the oven on for heat, and used the stove to heat water for dishes and a hand rag style bath.

Bollocks!!

Have you called the British Gas man or equivalent?

Get out all the extra blankets and get as much tea in you as possible (read tea as booze!)

Aaaargh! Having been there myself not too long ago I feel your pain.

Do you have a hot water bottle? Fleecy pjs, hot water bottle in the bed and a few throws/blankets shoved on the top should see you through. I mean my heating died on the coldest night in London in years which was lovely! I ended up going to bed wearing a hoodie to keep my ears and head warm!

Hell I wear fluffy socks in bed even when its warm! I'm a cold blooded little creature - I need something to keep my tootsies warm.

I would suggest you do what I did- pick out what you're going to wear and get dressed very very quickly - using the facilities with no heating is not pleasant!

Our heating died on Friday night. I was forced to retire to my bed with wine, it was awful. *cough*

I also suggest you bung your Angel/Torchwood/Merlin Dvds on in an attempt to raise your temperature.
