The boiler is dead. Cue no central heating and no hot water. And the weather forecast is saying we'll be about -2/-3 degrees C come Thursday night.
If all else fails, my plan is to go to the pub and get totally ratarsed so I can't feel the cold. It'd be good for the local economy so I could even feel virtuous about it.

Get out all the extra blankets and get as much tea in you as possible (read tea as booze!)

Date: 2009-02-11 12:21 am (UTC)Am already curled around a cider and preparing to boil up water for a hot water bottle. I have a small electric heater so I think until the boiler's fixed I'll be alternating between the bedroom and the TV room - ah the hardship...

Date: 2009-02-10 11:47 pm (UTC)Do you have a hot water bottle? Fleecy pjs, hot water bottle in the bed and a few throws/blankets shoved on the top should see you through. I mean my heating died on the coldest night in London in years which was lovely! I ended up going to bed wearing a hoodie to keep my ears and head warm!

Date: 2009-02-11 12:24 am (UTC)Yep, have the hot water bottle and plenty of blankets so tonight should be fine. It'll be the getting up and getting dressed tomorrow morning that'll be painful. Ah well, I suppose it's character building if nothing else *tries stiff upper lip*

Date: 2009-02-11 12:31 am (UTC)I would suggest you do what I did- pick out what you're going to wear and get dressed very very quickly - using the facilities with no heating is not pleasant!
