And you learn something new every day. Though I have a sneaking suspicion that yet again I am the last one to realise something everyone else picked up on weeks ago. In my defence, I've never watched The Catherine Tate Show, so there was no real reason I should have watched the Christmas special. But there you have to thank YouTube for providing the distinctly memorable sight of Merlin (Colin Morgan) being slightly non-plussed when he finds himself holding an edible penis.

I now consider myself dutifully updated. (Though, oh my god, the hair! *pets*)

Another thing I hadn't realised was just how much of a mark Morgan had made on theatre before he finally settled for Merlin. Sounds like he really caused a stir with Vernon God Little (his debut) and All About My Mother, and whilst Prayer For My Daughter may not have gone down so well it does read like he impressed a lot of critics with all his performances. I wonder if any theater-goers are disappointed that he's relocated to TV for a while, in any case I can imagine some BBC folks feeling pretty damn chuffed when he agreed to join the cast.

Oh, and apparently one of his dream roles would be Mort. Yep, he's a Pratchett fan. Have I mentioned that the Merlin cast are adorable? ♥

That was a fantastic wee sketch. The accents were pretty much dead on, which is unusual for Brits - Catherine's was perfect, and Colin's was very very good.

The hair reminded me of John Cusack in the Sure Thing, or indeed Say Anything. In fact Colin reminds me very much of a very young John Cusack.

They are possibly the most adorable cast ever. Did you see the article in one of the daily papers about the slash in the show? Apparently Bradley and Colin discussed how they going to play the homoeroticism. *is ded*

Yes I did! It is actually just a snippet from a general Q&A session which you can listen to online/download here. It also includes their response to the question about whether or not they've noticed any effects of fame, (answer: not really, although apparently Colin occasionally gets the double-take now in Sainsbury's).

Is he Southern or Northern? I kind of thought he was Welsh - I could hear a lilt in his voice and just assumed it was Welsh.

Most Southerners can't do a Norn Irish accent at all. It's like asking a Welshman to talk broad Glaswegian.

Oh oh oh oh :D He was the son from the 'gay son now' sketch on CT's show? *has loved that sketch for ages* I never recognized him because his hair was so long, I couldn't see his ears! I should have seen it when he looked so shocked at the edible treat, it was such a face we see on Merlin almost every episode!!!

I think he only plays the son in the Christmas Special if the other clips are anything to go by. My brain is mildly broken but it's hard to tell when I can stop giggling :)

Both Bradley and Colin seem to have some right gems in their film/theatre-ography, which considering they haven't actually been in the business that long is quite impressive :)

I've now seen Bradley getting ridden by his tie in a green toilet, and now Colin holding an edible penis and being told to get himself a rent boy.

Considering these guys haven't been in the business that long, they're doing pretty good in terms of offbeat things on their CV :)
