Still in the honeymoon period

I do love those initial few weeks where you've finally admitted to yourself that you've fallen for a show and everything about it is fluffy and shiny and just so damn sweet. I've no doubt the wank will arrive shortly or the dragon will be found to have kicked puppies in his youth, but for now all is good :) On that note, have three random things from Merlin that have made me smile tonight.

x. Merlin Vol. 1 DVD will be released 24th November. The description of the series is tone perfect, telling us how it's about young Merlin and 'his enthralling encounters with the young Prince Arthur'. Ah show.
x. This wallpaper from the BBC. It's just so darn cute, look at them all trying to be fearsome and serious, n'awwww.
x. FanVid: 10,000 Nights. Everything that made me fall for this show and Merlin and Arthur in a shamelessly fun and light (and pretty) fanvid.

Lovely, thank you! Loved the vid like HELL YEAH! Loved the wallpaper, loved the DVD description - come ON, who says 'enthralling' when it isn't supposed to have romantic connotations, that's just so loaded!

In short: oh yeah, honeymoon time for me too. No objections here whatsoever.

I did mildly choke on my tea when I read 'enthralling', I was half expecting the next sentence to start going on about a tall mysterious stranger or someother such Mills & Boon-esque staple :)

The vid is ridiculously chirpy and happy, it has been my happy place for the day, it is impossible to hate how they go from beating the pulp out of each other on day one to fighting dragons and sending psychic balls of slashy light to save each others lives. Oh show :)

I'm ashamed to admit I've been encouraging the boys in my class to watch Merlin. There are no lengths I won't stoop too to be able to discuss the show. *g*

It's hard to imagine wank could ever come out of something so harmless, but I trust fandom in that sense. Though maybe the gratuitous half undone shirts on all the young male characters will help distract the masses for a while longer.

I am trying to gently shove my work colleagues in the direction of Merlin, I think one of them is vaguely intrigued by the idea of John Hurt as a dragon so there may be success eventually... :)
