Anyone know any good DVD players?

It's been one hell of a week at work. Roll on the weekend.

Anyway, I'm in need of a DVD player. Just a player, not recorder or burner. Can anyone recommend any decent brands that they've been happy with?

I got this one a couple of years ago, and I was really happy with it. It's pretty basic, but it was cheap, and I never had any problems with it. It even survived being sent up to my mum in a suitcase!

There is actually a Currey's very close to work *ponders* Certainly a reliable robust player would be great, I don't need it to do many sparkly tricks, just play the odd new and homemade DVD or two. Thanks for the tip!

My Toshiba is still working well after six years. I've never had a problem with it and it's the only dvd player I've had that has played burned dvds without balking.

I had an APEX dvd player in the past, but I ran into a problem with the remote for it. The frequency of its remote was close enough to the one controlling my tv that everytime I hit pause, my tv turned off. If I wanted to fast forward through a scene, it changed the channel, etc. So yeah...much happier with my Toshiba. :)

Ah, definitely the ability to play burned DVDs would be a very strong plus! I shall keep my eye on the Toshibas then.

Equally, thank you for the warning about the APEX! I think fast-forwarding through channels might get a tad tiresome... :)

I find that Pioneer are quite good, as are Samsung.
