I am still on a ridiculous high from last night's Torchwood. I still have no idea what crack the writers were smoking when they came up with the whole thing, but I want what they're having.

Anyway, while I continue to float around in my bubble of love, passing on a few fluffy, harmless recs.

Fic: We've Seen It in the Movies (Now Let's See If It's True) by doyle_sb4 - Clyde and Luke from The Sarah Jane Adventures. Set during the final year before uni, the boys take a short roadtrip for Sarah Jane. Spot-on dialogue and humour, a hint that maybe in a few more years Clyde will be asking himself a few questions about Luke, and a very nice nod to another fandom towards the end.

[Ianto] Fanvid: I Feel Pretty by hollycore and miss_jaffacake. Obviously this is one for the Ianto fans. Amusing and shamelessly pretty. Technically SPOILERS up to Ep 4 (Meat) but this is not a vid that's bothering to fill you in on any plot details :)

Interview: Talking with Torchwood's Burn Gorman - no spoilers mentioned, although he does make it sound like TW being given a third series is a cert *crosses fingers* They talk about his previous work like Bleak House, upcoming roles in theatre, his castmates, and also Burn gives a frank answer regarding how TW series 1 compares to TW series 2.

Because I am me, there was of course one particular line that had me grinning, where Burn winds up pointing out how actors can be so very different from the characters they portray. His example being Gareth.

BG: ... Ianto (Gareth’s role) is very dry, understated. But I tell you what. Off camera he’s as crazy as John. He’s totally insane. On camera he acts like a very staid, stoic individual, but if you go to a club with him you don’t want to be near him when he gets on the dance floor. I’ve seen him standing there screaming at the top of his lungs, completely out of character.

And for the record, let’s say that I am nothing like Owen Harper. I have a very modest view of myself. I think I like to be quiet. I think Owen is a rogue and a bit perverted and dangerous. He’s a good character to play.

Right, and with that I'm off to try and be productive in the last half hour before lunch. I feel pretty, oh so pretty, I feel pretty and witty...

BWHAH! Yep, I think that's pretty much it. Does sound the kind of excuse only actors can pull off when they roll into makeup the next day looking rather sorry for themselves "No, I wasn't drunk, I was merely 'out of character'" :)

It does sound like a hell of a set, it's always good to know the cast all get on.

Have you checked out this months Torchwood magazine? As if we needed any more proof that Gareth is mad it contains a version of 20 questions with him that had me howling.

I'll try and scan it in tonight.

He is just so un-Ianto-ish it's fabulous. Ooh, is that the one with Eve and Freema on the front cover? I think the small shop downstairs for some reason has started ordering these in, I will go and investigate during my lunch break...

Have to say my reaction to reading was an equal mix of 'BWHAHAHAHA!' and *facepalms*. It's impossible to put your finger on this guy, one moment he's admitting to being a bit of a so-and-so to his ex, the next he's being picky with his books, and then we're back to energy converters for a desert island. Oh Gareth *shakes head* :)

I swear someone put something in the water in the uk that only affects boys between the ages of 21-27. I caught usmarox reading it and nodding along to what he was saying last night.

It was the naming one of his dogs after a ballarina that got me. Oh Gareth....♥

Oh yes, the dogs. Adopted and named after a ballarina and a band's leading man. And the aunt and the arse slapping. Plus we finally got a clear head-to-toe pic of Ianto in all his pinstriped goodness. I am so buying this mag when it finally hits our shelves!

The aunt bit had me howling. It was quite refreshing to find out that yes, as we suspected, he's just a normal guy who's made normal mistakes (though that did seem to come up a fair bit in the article). Think he might be calming down?

He is disturbingly normal, a complete lad, who is also rather lovely and clearly has no qualms at all about repeatedly snogging John Barrowman. How can we not love him?

And, erm, I'm not holding my breath just yet. He's still young, suddenly getting sucked into the gigs/convention thing with Marsters, and Torchwood does seem to be going very well. Though that said, he has got himself two dogs, which I guess is signs of commitment at some level :)

See, this why I adore blooper reels or gag reels :D The actors can often be just as hysterical as the roles they're given!

Hehe, I'm looking forward to this season's outtakes already, although reportedly an exhausting set it also does sound like an unfairly fun one and I'd love to get at least a glimpse of what the cast got up to this time round! :)
