Oh the trials of being a fangirl
Feb. 8th, 2008 01:03 amSo, whilst the ep of Meat may not have been all that compared to some of the previous eps, I will say that it has generated the most fantastic meta on the FL. It's been a while since I've literally wallowed in long, detailed character discussions/dissections with different interpretations of every scene on every post and every LJ. Brilliant stuff, keep it coming :)
I would be attempting to add to it but for the small difficulty of being unable to *cough*obtain*cough* the ep until Monday, so I'm working purely on memory. I do have 3/4 of a ficlet suddenly sitting in front of me which I think is mainly the result of too much Bucks Fizz as opposed to any real thought. Still, it's progress of a kind. The other small difficulty is that whenever I do try to remember the ep, I keep getting hung up on the tiddly trifling reaction of 'Dear god but Ianto was looking unbelievably hot' whenever a scene replays in my head. How is an honest fangirl meant to try and produce something vaguely resembling profound meta when she's being swamped by the gratuitous pretty?
Though, to be honest, I feel let down and am baffled by the lack of gratuitous picspams. FL you fail. We had the shirts. We had the long coat. People, WE HAD THE WAISTCOAT. *hands* I mean what more can this show do to pimp this poor lad out, bar the obvious of course...
ETA: Huh. Just utterly failed at trying to while away some time by completing this week's TW mission, in that it took like 10 seconds as opposed to usual hour or so (I am useless at these things, so trust me, if I find it easy, it's piss.) That said, utterly worth it to hear Ianto getting to say the immortal phrase 'Trust no-one.'

Mmm.. that waist coat with the crimson on the back, what a random but delicious touch ^_^

Date: 2008-02-08 02:05 am (UTC)Oh that waistcoat. The unbuttoned waistcoat. For Ianto, in office hours, that's practically the same as just rolling out of bed, it's a big enough deal just taking off his jacket. *happy sigh* Well, if Jack wanted some comforting hugs that evening, definitely the back of the waistcoat would no doubt feel lovely and silky cool to the touch. I think about these things too much...

That's like Ianto pornography right there!! I wrote a coda for this episode and include Jack feeling up that waistcoat back a few times. It would probably be satin or something of the like, yes?
I keep forgetting to say that your mood icon makes me giggly childishly each time I see it.
