Hmm. So yes I have feelings about all the news and the latest resignations/arrests/deaths. But for now my reactions will be kept off LJ, for now LJ will continue to be my little self-indulgent bubble of shallowness and happy thoughts.
So the parents and one of the spawn wound up visiting me this week. This brought rewards in the shape of a new pair of shoes (ooh!) and a trip to the cinema twice. One trip was of course to see 'Deathly Hallows Part 2', we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The second was to see 'Bridesmaids' which had the unintentional added humour value that comes with sitting next to a male and watching his reaction to the workings of the female brain. ( Cutting in case quote counts as SPOILER-y although it's not really... )
We also wound up watching The Apprentice final. The parents loathe with a passion any form of reality TV but were unwittingly ambushed by Dara O Briain's 'How To Get Hired' the night before where he basically showed highlights of the series so far. My personal favourite being when they introduced Jim with The Imperial March themetune. The parents were so horrified by what they saw that of course they wound up watching the final just so they could discuss in detail how vile/useless/whatever the entire thing was. (Although by the end they had each decided who they would have hired and were both thoroughly smug when Lord Sugar telepathically took their advice.)
Another acquisition from the weekend was the Mumford & Sons album which several folks have now suggested I try and yes you all get a gold star because yes I am very pleased with it :) Although for some unknown reason the SPN fandom seems to be on a mission to make a Dean/Cas fanvid to every single song on the album. I will rec this one, though, which manages to buck the trend in being, yes a little angsty, but overall a rather smile-inducingly hopeful one. Original post here. AND FINALLY. Did I mention I flailed like a flaily thing when I saw A WHOLE 7 SECOND OFFICIAL FIRST PEEK AT MERLIN SERIES 4?!! as;dlfkja;lsdfkj;asldkfj!! Oh Merlin, I have missed you and your cracktastic awesomeness. Please be returning to us soon :) ( The whole glorious 7 seconds also embedded behind a lovely cut... )
