Hmm. An odd mix. Parts of it I really liked. The storyline was darker than normal, though this was also down to the weekly villain being excellent, for the first time this series I was genuinely unnerved by the guesting dose of evilness.

Cut for ep SPOILERS... )

The trailer for next week is looking very hopeful however.

SPOILERS - not just from preview - and speculation for next week's ep... )

And finally, just to properly glut out on my Merlin-centric thought processes at the moment, I found this vid of Merlin filming with Morgan and James on YouTube. Obviously there are SPOILERS like crazy it, though I've no idea what ep the scene is from or what the actual plot it. But I am very intrigued and anxious to find out the full tale, oh yes... :)

Ah Alexis Denisof, wherefore art thou Alexis Denisof...

It seems he is actually still somewhere on the face of the planet. Not only are he and Alyson expecting their first child (finally, they took their time), but he is actually going to appear on TV. As in, a real actual TV show. He may appear on screens and be seen to utter real actual words. DUDE. Admittedly it's only a guest-star one-off spot, but still, I feel this moment should be noted nevertheless.

In other news, there are many adjectives that should not be used when trying to describe any aspect of the next episode of Merlin. 'Throbbing' is most definitely one of them. Yes I do have the sense of humour of a 12 year old. Thank you Digital Spy for that :)

And finally - only 40 mins till new Spooks! With Richard Armitage! I need to learn how to give these exclamation marks a break...

Spooks

Okay. So did not see that one coming.

Anyone else tuning in in half an hour to see what happens next? *set clock*

ETA: So my deep, profound thoughts on the new series of Spooks thus far: If ever there was a man born to ponce around in a Spooks-esque black coat whilst the camera slow-mos and the techno soundbeat lets rip, it's Richard Armitage. Yis.
