The new week is almost upon me over here in soggy England. Bah. To fortify me as I return to my desk tomorrow will be the fond memories of:

* Missing Top Gear - okay technically not a cheering thing, but I got an amusing text of OMG are you watching this? They really are trying to kill the Hamster! I am looking forward immensely to the repeat on Wednesday.
* Recovery - beautifully acted by all, lovely writing, but still rather grim and left me feeling a bit suckerpunched.
* The first episode of The State Within - as expected Jason Isaacs is the man. The acting again is great all round, the plot has enough twists and complications already to have me considering watching the remaining eps with a notebook and pen so I can draw appropriate spider diagrams and flow charts. There was also a beautifully a;fjadlsf;ajdsfoh;osdf moment when we had two very pretty men go from scathing fury and anger to utterly consensual lip locking. One of them still in his dinner jacket and tie. *swoon* Good good times.
* About one minute of Mine All Mine - two very pretty men on one of the most hilariously disasterous blind dates I've seen. It also still amuses me that Russel T Davis named GDL's character Yanto Jones. So so close...

No, sadly, not literally, just more trawling of the FL to see what tidbits are lying around. Today's gem made me love Mr David-Lloyd even more, if such a thing were possible - there is something unexplicably endearing about a man terrified that he's going to be eaten alive by fangirls.

From the Midlands EXPO last Saturday. [livejournal.com profile] athousanderrors was a saint and typed up a transcript of GDL's Q&A session. Apparently the poor man wasn't told until the actual day that he was doing one, so it was his first, bless. The transcript is here. Favourite moments include:

MC: Ladies and gentlemen, you may know him as Ianto from Torchwood
Fangirl: *squeal*
MC: Don’t do that! *scared face* Please give it up for the brilliant GARETH DAVID-LLOYD!
Fangirls: *squee*
Gareth: *looking a little nervous* Hello…
MC: I’m going to leave you at their mercy.
Gareth: Oh dear. Alright.

... and...

MC: Have you ever been tempted to walk into somewhere in Cardiff and just go ‘Torchwood!’ and see what happens?
Gareth: I- I do want to go into a club and just go, “Coming through, coming through, Torchwood… Weevil on the loose.” Look, there’s one over there!

Special mention also has to go to the random Pokemon question which left GDL, the MC, and most of fandom going 'WTF?' ♥ ♥ ♥
