Resistance is futile
Jun. 21st, 2006 12:30 pmI admitted to myself and the housemates that though normally my interest in football is nil, I will wind up watching the England World Cup matches and probably shouting at the screen. So I lived up to my word, yesterday perched on the sofa with a cup of tea and telling myself 'You know, every year I forget just how much our team suck', as we let a goal advantage slip for the second time.
What amuses me is the number of folks on LJ, including my wee sister, who despite vehement denials that it would ever happen, wound up watching the match with me. Even my housemates, who despise the sport, stuck around for the first half.
Oh, and Michael Owen? Ouch! When they showed a slow-mo close-up of the knee just twisting... *shudder*
But enough of that. The main news is of course the BBC axing Top of the Pops!! *sniffle* Oh, it's the end of an era, how can you have TV without TOTP... *dabs eyes*
