Last week I had my mini-rant about Supernatural. I came to conclusion that - and I'm aware that I'm probably looking at the past with rose-tinted specs - a show with the intelligence and good writing and complicated morals etc such as in AtS, is not going to be forthcoming any time soon.

That said. In the day, I adored Due South with the burning passion of a thousand supernovae. And I would be the first to admit that it was cheesy beyond belief, had the depth of a penny, and the plot - on the whole - of something exceptionally straight and un-bendy.

I am quite happy to let Supernatural try and take up the space that Due South left in my heart when the show ended. Squee-age on this week's ep: Bloody Mary. )

It's always the quiet ones. If you're familiar with Franz Ferdinand then you'll know the lead singer, Alex Kapranos, is normally the epitome of good manners and humour, his feathers seem impossible to ruffle. Admittedly he did effectively call Liam Gallagher 'a girl', but that's an old thing between the bands so almost doesn't count. Pester Franz about sexuality, private lives, RPS, and they've normally taken it in their stride, they'll mind their language on live Beeb interviews...

Try asking them about being 'calculated'. Cut for some expletives. )
