Last week I had my mini-rant about Supernatural. I came to conclusion that - and I'm aware that I'm probably looking at the past with rose-tinted specs - a show with the intelligence and good writing and complicated morals etc such as in AtS, is not going to be forthcoming any time soon.

That said. In the day, I adored Due South with the burning passion of a thousand supernovae. And I would be the first to admit that it was cheesy beyond belief, had the depth of a penny, and the plot - on the whole - of something exceptionally straight and un-bendy.

I am quite happy to let Supernatural try and take up the space that Due South left in my heart when the show ended.

Starting with the bad, because that is my way.

Sam. Sam Sam Sam. *smap* So, yes, there is a reason you were singled out. Looks like you're destined to get the good old dreams/premonitions of things to come. In which case... JUST ACCEPT THAT YOU NIT AND STOP WALLOWING BEFORE (cue another LB prediction) YOUR NEXT DREAM IS ABOUT YOUR BROTHER AND THEN IT'S ALL TOO LATE... Except it won't be, obviously, because they have a second season and it's not up to doing something funky with half of its cast just yet.

The good.

"Dean, you're my brother and I'd die for you, but..." BROTHER LOVE! *loves* I'm still not sold on Wincest. I love the family vibe too much at the moment to start angsting and twisting it that way. And yes, I'm aware I'll probably be eating my words in a few months, but for the moment that's my policy.

BACKSTORY! We have a good old-fashioned ghost story, with a bit of information about why it was all happening. Mirrors. People coming out of mirrors. Torches flashing in mirrors. They may have used all the oldest tricks in the book, but still that lady creeped me out. *shivers*

TWISTY ENDING! That wee bit about Sam getting the premonitions about Jessica, and then that random lady at the end. (Was that supposed to be her or some other person?) Hints that things are about to unfold.

Thank god and about bloody time.

Although, yes, Sam irritates me with his continual Head In Sand approach to life. So far, each ep he makes a few steps forwards and then a running leap back. I guess I'm used to my men being more Wes-stoical than he is.

And, yes. Talk about anvils dropping about Dean in that final convo. My guess is Sam will have to come clean when his next premonition is about beloved older bro and thus he *can't* keep it to himself. At any rate, at some point Dean will feature and Sam will be all 'Oh nos!' and will finally get off his arse and start acting on these dreams.

*poing* So when's the next ep?
