Three of us went to see this film.

princess_s - has seen all of Firefly - she loved it.
Me - knows general gist of Firefly through talk and conventions - I loved it
My put-upon housemate - she watched all of Buffy, watched a little of Angel, and had never even heard of Firefly - she loved it, even though normally anything 'sci-fi' really doesn't do anything for her. She and I spent a good hour or so at home afterwards, discussing the characters and who could do what for the sequel and the sequel to the sequel, as we both agreed there must be more!
Without spoilers; it's a fun fun ride. There are nasty bad guys of the kind you can unashamedly wish a horrid death on. There's the slightly more grey characters who you're not entirely sure what they deserve. There's lots of laughter and pippy one-liners. Good 'oh yeah' scenes. There's some nasty, 'it's just allergies' inspiring moments too.
