Well that's nice.
May. 22nd, 2004 08:22 pmI don't know entirely how to take this...
Anyway, if you like reading nice articles and such on Angel and other things TV, head over to
elynross' LJ as she has loads of brilliant links.
Including one to a particular article.
If you want to read the article, go here. Basically includes comments from Joss Whedon about his thoughts on the cancellation, the finale, etc etc.
This quote just sprang out at me. Can't think why.
- Joss Whedon.
Yay for Wesley...

"You go into every season not knowing your fate, so you have to be prepared," Whedon says. "But I felt there was more to say about these characters and that ['Angel'] was cut down in its prime.... The pain of loss that I felt when the show was cancelled, I'm going to share that. Where can I twist the knife?"
- Joss Whedon.
Yay for Wesley...

I'm working on it. I certainly have idea if you want to set it post-Not Fade Away. It's kinda silly, but considering the angst recently that's not a bad thing. Blame

Date: 2004-05-22 04:34 pm (UTC)Angel, in the dining room, with the wooden spoon
OR
Wesley, over the leather armchair, with the leather lined handcuffs.
OR
Angel and Wes, in the bedroom, with the ostrich feather...
Dah di da dah, dah di diddle dah - or my pathetic attempt at the theme to the A team. Now I'm intrigued... care to share?

Date: 2004-05-22 04:46 pm (UTC)There really isn't much there. And it does somehow assume that Wes is alive. At the moment I'm just chucking
Angel meanwhile gets Illyria to whisk Gunn to hospital. She leaves him there. And he does survive.
Angel decides to go and say final goodbye to Connor. Again. He heads off alone, using the sewers because sun's rising.
No idea what happens to Spike and Illyria, maybe htey just chill and play on the Playstation.
Wes arrives at the crater and swarm of emergency crews that marks the Hyperion's old location. Decides to check nearby sewers in faint hope that Angel survived the blast.
Angel's walking along when he hears someone calling his name in the distance. Cue disblief. A little tearing up. And one very happy sappy reunion.
Team Angel decide to do what the A-Team did, try and stay under the SP's radar, go underground. After Angel's said goodbye to Connor and explained things, they wait until Gunn's healed, then break him out of hospital.
To all intents and purposes, Team Angel vanish off the face of the Earth. my guess is that Lorne would still be the closest thing they have to a link to the outside world.
Then it would be like the A-Team's blurby thing at the beginning... 'If ever you're in trouble, and know where to call...' Da di-da DAH!!...
See. The A-Team :)
And of course, whilst they're hiding, there is plentiful opportunity for Wes and Angel to make up for lost time. i.e. wackiness ensues.
It's my denial bubble and I like it!

Yes. Ahem. slightly problematic. I like Justhuman's Lilah save personally. Sending the boy off to help the love of his life.
My idea makes this seem canon. It's basically Angel and Wesley(Hopkirk) deceased. They go back to being a detective agency. With Wes as a ghost. Not sure how the smut would work, but we'd do our best. And I'd set it in England. Actually it would end up being incredibly angsty. And maybe their clients would be ghosts as well as people. There would be father angst...
Who plays Mr T? I'm intrigued.

Date: 2004-05-22 05:16 pm (UTC)Yep, when I think up of post-NFA scenario's, I'm always using justhuman's fic as the sounding board, so to speak. I find it the most believable, it has an appropriately bitter price, and it ends nice and open-like.
Hmm. The Mr T character. I don't know. I'd need to brush up on the characters actually in the A team, but for the moment my money would be on Illyria. Don't know why. :)

Yes, that is so Illyria's line. Plus, if she's being 'brought up' by Gunn and Spike, odds are she will pick up some interesting turns of phrase!

You'd need to find a way for an absentee Wes to also get those memories back, because whilst they hurt him, they did make him 'Wesley'. No doubt about it.

Date: 2004-05-22 06:07 pm (UTC)I suppose you could go for the old favourite. Say that the spell only held as long as Vail and the others were alive and/or in power. So when Vail died, *all* the real memories went crashing back into the people affected.
Connor would be fine, he already knows.
Gunn... Might explain why he was distracted long enough to get that nasty wound.
And maybe in England, Wes woke up with a start as he remembered everything for himself.
