The family have departed after most pleasant birthday weekend. The only slight downside came during dinner yesterday when I caved and quietly asked a passing waitress 'Excuse me, I don't suppose you happen know what the rugby score is?' *sniffle* Well at least it wasn't 36-0 like last time, and we did make it to the final which I think is pretty darn good considering how we started. Swing low sweet chariot, etc etc :)

Finally, gakked from [livejournal.com profile] eloise_bright:
. Open your music library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.).
2. Put it on shuffle and press play.
3. For every question, type the song that's playing. When you go to a new question, go to the next song.
4. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool.

Oh the angst! The heartbreak! Not a dry eye in the house! Here be a sea-faring tale of WOE! -

Opening Credits: Never Be Lonely - The Feeling
Picturesque pan of a busy harbour, the women waving off the sailors, farewell father/lover/son, etc etc. The tune sets the mood of the movie, namely that whilst love does set you up for misery, idiotic actions, heartbreak, etc etc, at least you'll never be lonely.

Waking Up: Staralfur - Sigur Ros
Sleepy and thinking of stars and the sky (this band apparently doesn't 'do' lyrics, they just sing what fits the music). Peaceful. Thus LB blinks her eyes open and sets forth.

Falling in Love: Lady of the Sea - Seth Lakeman
A new ship docks, and even though DOOM DOOM TRAGEDY is portented everywhere, LB spies a young sailor. Cue sickeningly romantic jaunts along the beach and sunsets *makes vomiting noises*

Fight Song: Valentine - Delays
Oh yeah, it's wartime. Ships decked out with canons. LB's true love has sailed off and word has returned of shipwreck/capture. LB swashbuckles her way across the stormy seas to rescue her useless lover's hide, although there is a hurricane coming...

Breaking Up: Chicken Payback - The Bees
(WTF?) Despite it all, LB arrives to find proof of her lover's infidelity. Like a true sailor she responds to the situation by going out and getting roaringly drunk on rum, loudly mocking every aspect of love.

Prom: Outsiders - Franz Ferdinand
Because it'd be rude to not pay respect to the governors, LB dutifully attends the official celebrations thrown by the officers, hating all life as she watches folks enjoy themself. Fuckers.

Life is Good: Can't Stop Feeling - Franz Ferdinand
LB is a defiant so-and-so. Her heart may have been broken, but she embraces the pain and snarks her way onwards, after all, there is still a war to be won.

Mental Breakdown: You're the Reason I'm Leaving - Franz Ferdinand
Alas, it's all too much. LB hates her love because she still loves them. She makes a clean break and heads out on the next ship back to the aquatic front.

Driving Auf Achse - Franz Ferdinand.
Think Captain Sparrow-esque pose by the wheel as LB steers the ship through the waves. Can't touch this, na na na...

Flashback: Drink Me - Anna Nalick
During the night house, LB thinks back to the good times, trying to recognise the LB of a few months back.

Getting Back Together: Oh My God - Kaiser Chiefs
The ship docks and somehow the Rat Bastard/True Love is already in town. Despite being miles from home, true love is declared by all and before you know it...

Wedding: Anyone - The Feeling
... cue the wedding bells. As the big day dawns LB ponders the annoyances of love, how you go from a free soul to being utterly sold on just one person.

Night before the War: Come Together - Beatles
Is there time for a honeymoon? Is there hell. Word comes that the real (metaphorical) hurricane is about to hit. We all brace ourselves for the final battle tomorrow, discussing what/who we're about to face.

Final Battle: Feel Good Inc - Gorrilaz
Love's forever, love is free. LB and the rest of the company go in standing side-by-side. Canons roar, shrapnel flies, rifles fire, the usual CGI ensues.

Moment of Triumph: Love Cats - The Cure
It's down to the wire and the final fight is a crappy and messy fight of the cutlasses. Into the sea, you and me... LB and co dive off the ship as the Big Bad goes up in a blaze of ignited gunpowder.

Death Scene: We Have All The Time in the World - Louis Armstrong
Pulled from the waves, it's clear LB is not without injury. However she quite honestly couldn't care less, the war is won, her love is holding her hand, she has everything she needs. Awww. (retch).

Funeral Song: Here Comes the Sun - Nina Simone (cover)
So there was a high butcher's bill, but the ending is still upbeat, the sun rises on a free ocean and free world. (How the hell did this get so sickeningly sweet, where is my cynicism dammit!)

End Credits: Take All The Sky You Need - Ellis Paul
The credits roll as the ships once more set out to sea. Moral of the story: love is letting the other person take all the sky they need? *hands*

Probably why I got two Placebo songs and two from Wicked, they dont really pick songs randomly, it's all to do with how often they've been played, how they were loaded on, and so on, mine's is like that anyway.

Yours is a seafaring tale of woe, for some reason a lot of people have sailors and pirates in their movies. And actually love affairs, rather than being a fallen bride of Christ, who then becomes the harbinger of the apocalypse.

I noticed a good deal of FF in the mix, babe. Then again, I had a lot of High School Musical, which is mainly older girlie's fault, as her MP3 stuff is on my computer. Honestly.
