Happy TW Anniversary

Okay so I'm a little late, but anyway it's now been officially over a year since I saw my first Torchwood ep. For nostalgic puposes I wandered back to my initial reactions. On the whole my initial judgement (Flawed but fun) is the same as my view now. Main points were:

(1) Fandom being genuinely surprised/shocked/delighted at the twist regarding what had happened to Jack at the end of DW. No-one had suspected a thing.
(2) Although I couldn't remember his name (though for some reason I thought he'd been wearing glasses in one scene), I'd noticed Ianto and already resigned myself to probably rooting for Ianto/Jack before the season finale, and as Eloise pointed out: "He [Ianto] clearly fancies Jack something rotten."
(3) Amidst the squee about characters and the cool soundtrack was also the reaction of hubby of Eloise, namely: "Seriously, pet, this is crap, right?"

Start as you mean to go on. Some love it, some are indifferent, some hate it with a passion. Typical TV show then :)

Hee! I came into Torchwood "late", watching the first episode on the 22nd of October but with this post. ManDan has been cracking Welsh jokes all night. Really, more of a continual torrent of abuse on the Welsh, Cardiff, aliens etc. His hair smells nice though, so I don't mind. I think I was mostly just shocked that something like this could actually be shown on TV. I mean...the slashy porn wrote itself.

I wish I would tag my posts a bit more often so I could keep track of my squee on various shows.

Indeed. And who indeed would have thought this would have made Cardiff THE PLACE to be and have a fannish experience :)

Aw, baby. I have to go with hubby on this one. Crap, but with teh pretty men. Well, he didn't say the pretty men.

And happy birthday, my darling. I'm doing a big surprise party for my mum and dad's 40th anniversary tomorrow, but I'll be thinking of you too.
