Happy hangovers as far as the Parisian eye can see

Normally I know nothing about sport, bar maybe the Football World Cup when I'll be sure to try and keep tabs on whether or not our streets will be flooded by sobbing obese men. However even I picked up on the fact we're apparently in the Rugby World Cup Final. Mainly because my reaction to the headlines was 'Good god, you mean we won something?'

Seems we'll either face South Africa or Argentina. It'll all be fixed tonight by the game currently ongoing. What amuses me is the way folks seem to be rooting for S. Africa to win because it'll then give us a chance to 'right the wrongs of the last game'. In which they apparently well and truly trounced us with a score something like 36 - 0.

What? Us? Masochists? Never... :)

Still. What the hell. Go England.

ETA: ::eyes final score:: Ouch. Dude, come the final, we are so going to lose.

Yep, which is why I was rooting for Argentina.

I was rooting for Argentina by the end just because I always wind up rooting for the underdog. Still, roll on Saturday, I have a nasty suspicion we are going to get flattened but at least so far the S. Africans have been very decent and modest about the upcoming game even though I think everyone knows they pretty much got it in the bag.

I thought they were doing pretty well - untill the end.

I'm not sure about saturady, there may be a chance, euphoria at getting there or something. Anything is better than the 20 or 30 nil it was last time.

Yep, whatever the score at the end, I would like to have been a good game and a good fight. And who knows, maybe the crowd will burst into Swing Low and chant us to victory - stranger things have happened :)
