So I finally got my mitts on a copy of John Barrowman on The Friday Night Project. Yes I know I'm late. Would people think the less of me if I admitted I am genuinely scared to watch it. I adore John, no questions there, but I've yet to pluck up the courage to watch either of his Jonathan Ross interview - though Never Mind The Buzzcocks did have me in stitches. Having said that, if he was my baby brother I would have watched that through my fingers going 'I didn't need to see that...' =)

And now a quick dilemma as posed by [livejournal.com profile] rivier. We all know that "Marry, Shag, Throw Off A Cliff" quiz, but here's a version far more suitable for fandom:

In your fandom - Kill, Maim, or Disillusion?

In AtS:
KILL - Gunn. Purely because at a con JAR came up with the best death scene. Gunn gets turned, and his reaction is simply to stake himself. I like that, and I can see it too, the defiance of it, considering how strongly the character despised vampires and we saw that you do get an initial changeover period before a soul goes entirely vamp.

MAIM - Fred. She has a brilliant mind and I can see her using pure brains to still outsmart any enemies whatever state she's left in.

DISILLUSION - obviously Wesley. Again, he has brains, and it's oh so fun when he goes morally ambiguous.

In Torchwood:

KILL - *wince* Ianto. Sorry. Gwen is too obvious and I'd feel bad for Rhys. And much as I love our caffeine-gifted Welshman, of all the team he kinda has the most to make up for. I'm glad Jack didn't literally fire him after the Lisa/Cyberwoman incident, but part of me still is puzzled because that level of treason surely merited something more serious. (Though equally I can see why Jack might have given a second chance to a mere fool for love.) Of course it goes without saying that this choice goes with an obligatory heroic final moment and blaze of glory.

MAIM - Owen. He has a great mind and a very sharp tongue. I can see him as a bitter House-esque figure, furious at the world but still doing his job very very well. Owen would be great.

DISILLUSION - considering that all of the team had betrayed Jack by the end of Season 1, this is a hard one as technically they've all kinda been there already. Ianto would be very pretty disillusioned, but to be fair he's already been there albeit briefly. For that reason, I'm going to go with Tosh. Gentle and supposedly reliable, she'd hit the team far harder than even they would have anticipated, plus if anyone could scoop her up in the interim, there is a brilliant mind there to twist to their own nefarious ends :)
