So you know how sometimes I vanish to the south of dear old blighty, to a land of splattered badgers on the kerb, baby rabbits on the horizon, zilch mobile reception unless you hike to the top of the valley and broadband tending to be reserved for the bigger cities?

Well that's where I'm going to be living for the next year. Today I start the last of shuttle runs, shifting my things down to the barn (well, technically a converted pigsty, but barn sounds nicer).

*clings to connection* I am hoping to get things set up and connected quite promptly, but god I hope the interim isn't too long.

ETA: Oh and thank you for the computer advice. Within the next 10 days, barring floods, fallen trees, postal strikes, a shiny new Windows XP Dell, with 250GB hard drive and 1GB RAM will hopefully be with me =)

Down near the grand-relatives?

Your job, right? I'm embarrassingly out of the loop, honeybunch. Good luck with job, and converted pigsty. You can be like Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and smoke your own kippers in the fireplace etc.

Hope the new computer comes soon, and that you are reconnected with the real world ASAP.

*hugs you farewell*

How far south are you coming? I've been living here over 8 years now and I still can't get used to being a Southwesterner *g*
