lonelybritOkay, I've been away happily chilling out among the hills and dales for the past few days. A land where there is no internet. And (usually) there is no mobile phone reception.
Except that, for some reason, this time there was occasionally a brief moment where a single little bar would light up on my brick-like phone and a rather delayed message would appear.
Like, just picking an example totally at random: "Angel's been cancelled....."
No, I didn't cry, I didn't swear, I didn't even go shooting off to the landline to pass the news on to anyone I had ever met who had ever watched a single ep. No. I just went very quiet, blinked once or twice and continued with my homework.
In my mind, however, things were very colourful, very loud, often verging on the full-on rant. I was not that surprised, but I was beginning to hope that Angel might get a final, sixth season. Ratings were good. JM seemed to be a success. And besides, on a purely practical level, I need something to distract me for my final year and what is going to do that if not AtS? *sniff*
However, life has a way of throwing things into perspective. Yes, I am gutted, but I also returned to find a very dear friend's life had just been thrown into a very unpleasant chaos for a completely different reason. It's hard to stay extremely pissed at the WB when things like that are hovering over you.
So, *hugs* to the North.
And **nastygesturesandshortwords* to the WB.
ETA: Seen this around, how could I not show my support? :)
And, if you like 'Angel' and haven't seen this, then there's a wee petition you might like to sign. If not, well, I think I can forgive you...

...I'm back again. You know, as I browse through LJ's, it's amazing what violent icons, smutty posts, and RL happy endings will do in the way of cheering you up. This really made me smile :)
