Have you notice how when you do nothing more strenuous other than put away files all day from 9am - 5pm, by the time you get home you're absolutely knackered? Odd but true *floops*

I'm supposed to be meeting up with some of the beloved FL this weekend - wheee! Kind of. Apparently there's an 80s theme, but bearing in mind that I have been living in mud colours until quite recently, trying to find anything that even fits properly let alone also fitting an 80s style is turning out to be quite tricky. Not to mention I'm still not entirely sure what merits as '80s', all I remember is neon pink shell suits and there is no way you would ever get me in one of those even if I knew where to get one. Still, heigh ho, we'll see what we can do...

When I think '80s my first image is Charlene in Neighbours: big hair, shoulder pads, leg warmers. My second thought is Madonna's "Like a Virgin" or her in Desperately Seeking Susan.

Terrifying, ain't it? Here come the nightmares.

Ah, see if I knew who Charlene was and knew what Madonna's outfits were like, this would be helpful, LOL! Though I have picked up the idea that big hair is the way to go, and shoulder pads do ring a faint bell despite my mind desperately trying to not remember the age that taste forgot ;)

Hee! Early Madonna is most definitely the person I think of when thinking about 80's fashion. Put a lace scarf in your hair, wear a tattered sweatshirt (perhaps strategically shredded with scissors) or sweater over a tank and a flouncy skirt with boots and you are totally 80's. Okay, I have just now realised that I have none of these items in my wardrobe except the lace scarf (which I did wear as a head scarf in the 80's. I feel OLD).

Other 80's things - the preppy look. Do you have an button up shirt that you can layer with a polo shirt? Flip up the collar. Totally 80's. Even better paired with a tailored pair of pants.

Another 80's thing here in the US was cammo pants. It was a whole thing with the Clash. Cammo pants and a Union Jack t-shirt. You do not have that either, I am guessing, but I am laughing while remembering my very favorite Union Jack tank top. I did love the Clash. And my cammo pants.

I've been no help at ALL, I am sure. But I do hope you have fun this weekend. :)

I have a tank top, so that's at least one thing. As for tailored anything - hah! I have a tendency to just inherit clothes from the spawn, the result being that whilst a lot of my wardrobe is very nice and comfortable and has weathered trudging through the sleet in the Lakes, 'tailored' is not a word commonly associated with my various outfits, LOL!

Ah well, never mind, you have been helpful in that at least I can try and poach something resembling these items off various helpful members of the family! Thank you :)
