Pimp my drive!

lonelybritToday was the day of doom, aka the resit of the paper from hell. *shudder* Actually in the end it all went fine, pretty sure I've passed, so yay!
Not that the start was so grand. The drive last night was supposed to take 1hr40m, but the M6 had 'some roadworks'. Which basically entailed random shutting of junctions and in fact the complete disappearance of the junction I was supposed to be exiting off. Cue much fun, a journey time of over 3 hours, and an evening rounded off with a double gin and tonic.
To be fair, it the drive itself could have been worse. The two youngest spawn clubbed together with the grandparents for an early birthday gift. I was led out to my old shell of car to find she was now in proud possession of a radio (music - hallelujah!) and two new speakers.
Spawn: You know my guitar amps?
LB: *thinks of the thumping bass and guitar notes that shake the entire house* Yes.
Spawn: Well those are 200 watts. These - *gestures to mine* - are 350. *beams*
The car is tiny. She is now a soundbox that reverberates down the road. Certain notes resonate so at times I am actually driving one giant speaker. Very cool. Although apparently the spawn also tried to persuade the grandparents that I wanted fake diamond hubcaps, a neon blue strip that lit up every time you touched the accelerator pedal, leopard print seats, and a white stripe down the middle of the whole car. God forbid *shudders*
