New leaf, turning over
Aug. 1st, 2006 04:06 pmSo I've got a pitiful amount of work done these past two weeks. But from hereonout it will be a different story, namely because RL is really kicking me up the arse in the nicest possible way, trying to keep me motivated by certain things.
(1) THE WEATHER. So last night I curled up under my sheet and after half an hour realised that I was actually chilly. Bliss! For the first time in a fortnight I was able to snuggle under a proper feather duvet without roasting, as nature intended.
(2) My Franz Ferdinand tickets arrived. *bounces* Barring disaster, I am officially going to my first Franz gig, SQUEEEEEEEE!!
(3) Lovely LJ coms. For example
franz_hai recently offering up Awwww.
*sigh* Ah, dear Franz. So cool. So chic. So composed. Yis. *dies laughing* Warms the soul.
In other news, I've been listening to Muse's latest album. Not half bad, is it? It's got trumpets and horses whinnying and everything :)

As for Muse - hmmm, bit too much fretwankery in their music for my liking. I don't mind 'Supermassive Black Hole' though, which is a bit of a first for me.

Muse was one of the first bands I ever really listened to, though it was down to the spawn playing the album at high volume in the next-door room. Their music's fun and epic, kind of like a rocky soap opera :)

Rocky Soap Opera is exactly the term for Muse! I think it's just a bit too fiddly for my liking - being a simple soul, I'm happy with two guitars, a bass and drums. This electronic malarky goes straight over my head.

Date: 2006-08-02 12:15 am (UTC)I skim-read an interview with Muse just before they released this latest album. They did admit that whilst they were thoroughly satisfied with the way the final product sounded, they were probably kind of screwed when it came to figuring out how to play it live with just the three of them...
