So, another semi-final tonight. Portugal vs France. On the one hand my twisted logic would prefer Portugal to go through as then at least England got beaten by a team that went all the way rather than a team that dropped out. But then again, France has Zidane, and Henry, and va va voom...

In which case... *deep breath* COME ON, FRANCE!!

ETA: Just had another very good reason pointed out to me: Jean-Marie Le Pen (of the National Front) who says France can't identify with their team because it has too many "players of colour" in it. I hope Henry and co. wipe the floor with Portugal.

It's not that easy to root for France, is it? But sadly they are the ones most deserving of the title from those still left. Well, it is almost over.

YAY! France. Even though the match was rather boring.

Yeah, but as long as they are through, that is all that matters.

*keeps fingers crossed for the final match*

Have to admit I've been secretly rooting for France right from the start. It's because of Jean-Marie Le Pen. The more he foams at the mouth and declares they have too many black players in their team and they aren't proper Frenchmen etc etc, the more I want the team to win. Every brilliant touch to the ball that Zidane makes and every goal that Henry scores is a kick in the teeth for the French far right.

That's the way I see it anyway.

Oh, well, it wasn't quite that good (and certainly not as good as Germany v Italy) but allez les bleus anyway.

I can't really see them beating Italy but you never know. I'm just very pleased that Zidane's career is going to end on such a high.
