Okay that was kinda cool
Jun. 29th, 2006 12:26 amJust finished watching The Devil's Trap Salvation. Definitely one of the best eps of the season thus far, which is just as well considering this is the first part of the finale (second part's next Monday).
Much as I'm usually a sucker for Dad angst, I have to admit that John is just leaving me cold. I don't know why. The scenes between him, Sam and Dean were meh.
Now Dean and Sam is another matter.
Okay, scratch that, I am now officially only watching this because of Dean. Sam and John occasionally spark into something interesting but most of the time they annoy me. Dean on the other hand is fun. My housemates attempted to watch this ep but got bored and left at the second break. However, the one time they briefly showed interest was when they laughed at one of Dean's jokes *pets him*
That talk between the two brothers was fantastic. Full kudos to Ackles for a truly great acting job. I could have kissed Dean for finally voicing some simple common sense and reason.

Date: 2006-06-28 11:54 pm (UTC)Is it the one with Dean and Sam in the car and Sam does the whole 'All my life, you were the only thing I could count on' speech? Cause that made me go *tear* :)
I hate John, I try to subtley hide it of course. :P but I like Sam despite his whiny little bitch tendencies, in fact, mainly because of them, I think Sam acts how most of us would in that situation, he pouts and moans and feels hard done by, where as Dean acts how we wish we'd be in that situation, all strong and awesome.

Date: 2006-06-29 12:06 am (UTC)Nope, it's the talk in the motel with Dean's "It's not worth dying over... You and Dad are all I have." I like that one of them has finally been able to see past the need for vengeance.
Though the talk in the car was one of those sparks of interest I mentioned when it comes to Sam. I do think Sam is written accurately - given what he's been through - but I just don't find him engaging onscreen. At the moment I care for him because I can see how much Dean cares. Can't fault the acting, he's doing a fine job with what he's been given, and he did make me go 'Awwwww' with that car speech :)

I love this show. :D

Date: 2006-06-29 10:39 pm (UTC)Oh god yes, and oh how the tables have turned. Though I do like the subtle difference. Back then Sam was doubting that their Mum was worth the effort of this long hunt given he doesn't even remember her. Whereas Dean was saying that she was worth the hunt, but the hunt wasn't worth dying for. Which probably would be her opinion too *pets the boys*
