Quick post whilst the kettle boils, mainly aimed at [livejournal.com profile] eloise_bright since she and I have a thing about family angst.

This morning on Radio 4 there was this programme all about the relationship and advice passed between fathers and sons, from the sons' point of view. You had some sweet and lovely, some Wesley painful and heartbreaking, the full range. You can hear it here. Interesting to hear these guys starting to open up when it's obvious they normally stay quiet and say nothing.

I love you, honey. Off to listen now. And apparently Veronica Mars is being repeated on a Sat morning at 11. *squees a bit*

I have this terrible uncontrollable urge to write Life on Mars/Wes and Connor. I have it all planned out. ARGH.

And yes, my heart just cracked in two. The game guy - who was estranged from his dad for years. "All of this - is because of those stories you told"

I want to fic that.

I'm weeping now. The cancer charity guy. And the cricket nets. And his own kid and the hug and... *wibbles*

Thank you for telling me about this programme.

"Dad's proud of me. Just wish I could hold his hand and talk to him"

I really thought I'd got all my Wes Dad Angst out. Not a chance. This damn Life on Mars one is eating my brain. Wes staying with his aunt in Manchester. With Connor. And Wes and Aunt (Roger's sister) discussing Roger and Wesley's relationship.

*sighs*

I'm supposed to be writing Manathon. Manly men with cars and cowboys. *g*

That was wonderful. Thanks for the link. Hearbreaking, especially the guy with his son and cricket and thinking he was a horrible dad. Again, thanks for sharing. :)

Love your icon, btw. The three of them lined up so perfectly and all of their daddy angst/issues.
