Our friends across the channel

The spawn (translation: siblings) were talking about this year's French exchange at their school. A while back a number of French students arrived in our town and were dutifully shown various museums, parks, with the odd stop at a band practice or cafe.
This week, the English were shipped across to sample la vie Francais, (yes, I know my spelling sucks), and apparently spent pretty much all the time in the pub. Which was fine. Then one day they found themselves in the middle of the riots. The police were starting to throw smoke grenades and firing rubber bullets.
French kidlets: YAY! A RIOT! *go running to join in*
English kidlets: *frozen to the spot* ...
and I've just remembered I'm supposed to be doing the
watching_daily update. Excuse me... *runs*
