So, the news of Monday for LB
  • Watched V for Vendetta. WHY DID NO-ONE TELL ME IT STARS PATRICK FROM COUPLING AND STEPHEN FRY. For shame, FL, for shame. I did have to quibbles with it, but otherwise it's a very good film. Possibly I just missed the point a little, but I disliked the slight glorifying of Guy Fawkes at the beginning of the film. I can accept that he makes a cool mask, but don't expect me to buy into the oh he was so great because he was prepared to die for his ideals etc. He wasn't great, he tried to blow up parliament with the aim of replacing them with people no better. But anyway, that aside, yes, the masks were very cool.
The other quibble was right at the end, when my pal turned to me and went 'Not to ruin the mood, but you realise that would just end in anarchy.' Er, yes, glad to see the nasty guys felled, but that country was about to plunge nosefirst into chaos with no backup structure ready. Oh well. I think I just need to learn to disengage full brain functions when I go to see films, LOL!
  • Supernatural. *shudders* A haunted asylem.... nrgh... That's two very decent eps in a row, hopefully this trend will continue *poing* I rather like the twist that it was the doctor who was the threat, and the mad patients who were the ones trying to help. The brother angst is always lovely, though it was less cutting than the shapeshifter ep. Though when Dean says quietly 'You really hate me that much', so it's more a realisation than a question... *hugs him*
Oh, and that end phone call? Evil. Bah. But in a good way :)
  • Before Franz there was Barrowman. Before Barrowman there was Woodward. Before Woodward, there was David Bedella. Who apparently is touring with the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Me and the pals might see if we can go see it, because frankly why not?
  • ETA Watched Ricky Wilson host Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Very amusing. Bill Bailey and Phil Jupiter (?) took the mickey out of him continutally, but in a most affectionate way. Wilson does seem to be a bit of a sweetheart. The game concluded with him singing 'Na na na na naa' with Bailey on the keyboard, Jupiter on the guitar, and some black dude with glasses sitting stone still behind a drum kit. Ace :)

The WB made us wait like 3 weeks between Asylum and the next episode, the bastards. That phone call nearly killed me. And if the next one on ITV is the one I think it is - we're only about 3 or 4 eps behind now, yay!

Oh, and I feel the need to point you this way - http://community.livejournal.com/carmendove_rndm/1369.html#cutid1
