That Christmas special was great. Silly, amusing, with shoutouts to Torchwood (SQUEEE!) and Hitch-Hiker's Guide... (Arthur Dent met the Doctor!!) and rounded off with a preview of evil!GilesASH. (SQUEEEE!!) So far, I do love our new Doctor.

'No second chances, I'm not that kind of man.'

Funny, quirky, with a good side order of piss-this-guy-off-at-your-peril-ness to him. Rock on.

I was worried because I really couldn't see David as The Doctor but he was brilliant.

Loved the little Hitcher's reference. I said exactly the same thing to my mum 5 minutes before he did.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Cybermen.

I'm very much looking forward to the new series.

One of the things I loved about the previous Doctor was that whilst he often was fun and quirky, he could also go dark and show a genuinely intimidating side of his character. You got the distinct impression that he could be very scary if he wanted to.

I never doubted that Tennant could do the fun, quirky side of the Doctor, but I was unsure whether he could also show a convincing dark side as well. But he did that so very well in this ep. Yay!

I didn't see the telethon clippy, so I can't judge. But I really did like this ep; at one point you have the Doctor quoting The Circle of Life from The Lion King, which was hilarious :)

I hated him with a passion in that. I was grumpy and peeved and utterly determined to hate him. But... I ended up loving him. I couldn't help it. The whole ep is brilliant and Harriet is stunning. Ten/Harriet/harriet's right hand man threesome would be fun...

I'm half-hoping that the right-hand man was being introduced in preparation for a place on Torchwood, when it starts :) He and Jack would make a good team...

I mostly enjoyed it. I don't much like David Tennant but I can't say he was bad, because he certainly wasn't. Rose bored me, though, and I didn't really like what they did with the Penelope Wilton character. Yay! for Evil ASH, though.

*grin* Oh yes, ASH was looking deliciously evil and menacing and, in that last clip, quite pissed-off and possibly not entirely human.
