...when you start looking forward to the next episode of The Archers on Radio 4.


Don't know when it happened but...

Okay, that's a blatant lie. I know exactly when it happened. It was after that kiss in the strawberry polytunnels. By torchlight. It was all sweet and lovely and... *sigh*

And then the wonderful ship of Adam/Ian got sidelined for a bit for some pathetic little plot where a few people were traumatised simply because they nearly got burned alive when some evil guy threw a paltry petrol bomb into their home. And now we have to listen to all their woes. Pfft. Call that a storyline?!

Anyway. This seriously does mark stress. I'm writing about The Archers. This is not a good sign.

But, it's so cruel! They were such a lovely couple and all was sunshine and sweetness. And then that evil harpy doddery old granny had to go and wreak it all. Apparently she doesn't think they should be flaunting their relationship because it's bad for business. And Ian has agreed because he just wants a quiet life, and Adam is furious that he's letting narrow minded bigots dictate what they do...

So they've just had their first row. *sniff*

Anyway, tomorrow I'm off to see a couple of good friends. I think most of my luggage is going to consist of revision notes, but never mind.

The Archers is this radio soap opera, set in the middle of the English countryside. It's one of those shows that everyone knows it only meant for tame old fogies, but it's surprising the number of people who've heard the odd ep or so.

And yeah, Jackie Chan. Well, it could be worse. I've seen two people now who got saddled with George. W!!

The Wangel was a pleasure. After all, it's porn smut love that makes the world go round :)

Do you know what's weird - I totally was into the Archers at university. I think it might have had something to do with the fact that I had no TV. We had one TV set in the JCR, which was about 50 years old, and watching it was a fairly interesting experience, as the passive smoking effects in the JCR weren't always from nicotine!

Kind of lost touch with the Archers over the years, job and kids mean my TV and radio time is severly limited. Angel, of course, and Jonathan Ross on Radio 2 on a Saturday morning is a must. I listen to this while I do the girls' ballet run. I am a sad, sad woman.

LOL! yep, that's me entirely. Never used to listen to it until I moved into halls in my first year. If I wanted to watch TV it meant sitting in a common room cloudy with cigarette smoke and probably watching something I didn't want to anyway.

So, cue growing addiction to the radio. 'The Archers' and 'I'm sorry I haven't a clue' were all that kept me going :)

Jonathan Ross? Is that the one who'd say "Woss" instead of "Ross"? I've seen a Jonathan Ross on the BBC several times.

Yep, that's the guy. Sometime's he can be really funny, other times not. But on the whole he always seems to mean well :)

Yep, Woss is Ross. His show in the Beeb is okay, but his real talent is radio. He just floats on the airwaves. I've almost crashed the car a couple of times listening to him and going into convulsive giggles. And he has the best guests.

I'm sorry I haven't a clue *sigh* what a wonderful show. All those Goodies in one room, and Samantha too. *sighs in wistful nostalgia*. I am currently trying to work on the WIP, think of a drabble for Randyfangame (totally uninspired this week) and now I want to go and look for "The Goodies" sites on the net. Hmm.

I don't know. Maybe try going for something really silly? Like Spike finding out Angel has a phobia of pencil sharpeners or something.

Oh, the pencil sharpener thing is way more inspired than mine. I was thinking of a Wes/Faith naughty schoolgirl piece, with Wes all strict and stern, making Faith study... oh, anything really. Don't think I have the nerve to write it, though...
