slashthedrabble, with a little appearance from our trusty dragon Eric.
Please Don't
Eric was a well-bought up dragon. He cleaned his scales, even behind the horns. He chewed before he swallowed. He neither started his meal before the hosts nor interrupted their speeches. Though, currently, Eric’s will was being tested to the utmost.
Angel swayed as he raised his wineglass. “And so I drink, to my wonderful son…”
Eric felt Connor try to hide more completely under his wing.
“Connor, you have no idea how proud and confused you make me by turning twenty-one. Or are you only three…” He squinted. “Do we count dimensional time differences?”
“Remind me why I love him?” Wesley asked Eric pathetically.
Despite his inebriated state Angel somehow heard that. “Because I make black leather look really cool?”
Spike snorted.
“Because I love you and feel good when I’m with you?”
“Oh, get a room,” muttered Gunn.
“Because after all we’ve been through I can’t imagine being without you?”
Wesley fidgeted and Eric could see the blood rising in his cheeks.
“I heard a song yesterday that reminds me of you,” Angel went on dreamily. “I feel like I could sing now…”
“Please don’t…”
“I was saying something… Oh yes!” Angel straightened, “A toast! I would like-”
Eric took pity on his family, and sneezed. The grass shimmered and bowed in the moonlight, moths scattered, and Angel went flat on his back.
“God I hope I don’t turn into him when I’m older,” said Connor fervently as he edged out into the open and patted Eric on the nose.
“He’s on a blood only diet from now on,” Wesley said, going over to examine the pole-axed vampire who had now fallen asleep. “Sorry about this, though you realise he’ll never want to be reminded about it. Ever.”
“Ah, future blackmail material you mean?” Connor brightened. “Cool, thanks!”

Family... *happy sigh* I love this 'verse of yours :) Wouldn't mind seeing more of it.
