The good news: The internet connection is back.

The bad news: The computer is still dead in the water. So, the brother put us on multiple user setup. And lo, the computer seemed to run smoothly, yea even speedily. Then we went back to one single user, i.e. no log in, and the computer has gone back to sluggish at best. If anyone has any ideas as to what might be going on, your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

In other news. [livejournal.com profile] princess_s is here, and has stopped breathing, as well as helping me pick out a home for my masters next year. So I hugs her and loves her and calls her Aardvark. Because I can. :)

ETA: GOD, THE PAIN!!! Dammit why do I have to work tomorrow! It's not fair!! *sob*

Just a thought off the top of my head...

Maybe each user has their own preference on programs that load up during login? And if you use the one user, maybe all the programs that you have load up in the bg, simultaneously?

Like:
User 1 - Program A and B in the bg
User 2 - Program C and D in the bg
Main User - Program A B C and D in the bg, taking up more memory and processing power.

Dunno, just a thought...
