I am pleased by the casting, about time we had an older actor in this role. I first noticed Peter Capaldi in the brilliant Local Hero.

He is brilliant :) Though he did also break my heart in Torchwood, I don't know whether or not I'm hoping they will find a way to give Frobisher some kind of nod. Ah well.

Yes, I am definitely ready for an older doctor. And I've had the Local Hero DVD on my 'to watch' pile for a while now so I'll have to finally get around to watching it before Christmas. Although I am now seeing people starting to look for the cinematic masterpieces like Lair of the White Worm. I hope they post their reactions...
