I've caught-up with yesterday's ep. My non-spoiler-y reaction mainly comes in 2 parts.

1) Bradley James. Sir. Whatever anyone else says, this series you have most emphatically become my King Arthur. Kudos.

2) The preview for next week? asd;lfjkadsfal;jskfjk;lsdf!!!11!! BRING IT.

Hmm. Yet again there was a lot going on, and to be honest the writing didn't always rise to the occasion. BUT, where the writing fell short all the actors concerned rose magnificently.

I'll say right-off that the mind-control spell did not sit easy with me. Taking away a man's free will is always going to be morally dodgy, and towards the end it felt like Merlin was beginning to push the boundaries a little of just looking after his charge and starting to take advantage a bit. That said, Colin and Bradley gave that whole stint far more depth and memorable moments that the script warranted. Spelled!Arthur was adorable; the tree hugging, the 'sorry to have been a disappointment'... *pets* (Although my god those trousers were indecent - how the hell did they get that past the censors?!!)

And the knights! Their loyalty to the King and how they all tried to defend it to the last. Elyan refusing to talk. Percy carrying Arthur away. Leon staying to try and defend the kingdom. Ending of course with Gawaine being epic and noble as he fights for his dinner. We had better not be losing any more this series as after Lancelot my heart couldn't take it.

And finally! Uncle Aggy has been outed. I almost felt sorry for him when he realised he was being ditched for the younger hotter model of the season. He's been a very good villain this series, creepy and yet at times oddly sympathetic. Well played, Mr Parker.

So. Hands-up who thinks we'll be getting some kind of magical reveal next ep?

There were anvils dropping all over the place this week. Aggy's comment about "What coward would deny who he is," Arthur's distress over why he can never see the secrets being hidden by those he cares about... If this series had consistency from one ep to the next I'd be a little worried about Arthur as at this stage I don't think he could handle finding out that another close friend has been keeping something from him (even if it's been for his own good). He looked so broken-hearted when he realised his uncle had betrayed him.

The reveal, if there be one, could go several ways of course. Maybe Arthur will just find out Merlin is a dragon lord. Or maybe he'll just realise that Merlin is Dragoon. OR maybe it will be the simple finding out Merlin can do magic. Ah, it all seemed so simple back in S1...

So until next week, I'll be replaying that moment with Arthur reaching for that motherf**king sword in that motherf**king stone asd;fljkadsl;fjka;ldksfj
