I'm fine. Really.
May. 26th, 2004 06:05 pmCertain scenes have not been replaying themselves in my head. Nope. My head is clear and full of sunshine...
Quick question for those who've been reading
thebratqueen's Protocol. If I mention the quote: 'I *order* you to feel that', would you know what scene I was talking about?
Hah. Feeling much more cheerful now. :)
Anyway. Did a quick trawl through FF.net to pull up a few recs for anyone who hasn't been by there recently. Also gakked a quizzy thing that made me laugh out loud from...er... someone.
On the whole these fics tend to have Illyria somewhat at their centre. Also, most of them, I think, *aren't* a crossover, i.e. it's mainly just Team Angel doing what they do best. Finally, yes, most of these are WIP's. They could go on to be drivel, they could go on to be a new classic. I don't know. But I kinda like their beginnings.
The Five Stages of Grief - Jedi Buttercup
Sacrifice - littlesoprano
We Who Were Left Behind - Ollen70
You're Where I Am - EclipseKlutz
Wolfram and Hart: New Beginnings - Nathan-Daystorm
Also, not from ff.net, and not post 5.22, but still very worth reading:
Chosen -
princessofangst. Faith/Wes. Written for the Baby!verse fiacathon. The writer creates a believable couple out of Faith and Wes, meaning that, yes, it is not all fun and kittens. So to speak. And the ending is wonderfully bittersweet.
And here be the very, very strange quiz thing. Which I'm not sure I understand anyway, but never mind:

Er, or were you really asking which specific scene it was? Cause I don't mind looking it up. (Oh, the hardship)

Date: 2004-05-26 01:41 pm (UTC)You know when Wes got the letter from the council saying that he hadn't been performing his spousely duties adequately, it occured to me that how the hell would they know that? Then I suddenly wondered why the council had been so quick to 'jump into bed' with the vampire and form this alliance.
And then this nasty little thought came into my head. Do the council know about the perfect happiness clause? Were they hoping to unleash Angelus on the world for some nefarious reason? And with no demon forth coming, do they therefore deduce that Wes hasn't been able to give Angel that perfect moment yet?
Eek. If that's the case, then ye Gods and little monsters, how cold can R.W-P be to sacrifice his boy to the Scourge of Europe.
See, told you I was a geek. Thoughts on this appreciated...

Date: 2004-05-26 02:24 pm (UTC)1) Roger being willing to literally sacrifice his son to the Scourge of Europe.
2) Wesley realising that's what they intended for him.
3) Angel realising what the Council intended for the spouse they sent over. He would not be happy.
4) Angelus. If he did emerge through some other scheme then ye Gods...
When I first heard of the letter, I just assumed that it was the not drinking the potion and the daring to feel pleasure that had gotten the wind up the old farts. But then someone else mentioned that, actually, releasing Angelus would effectively destroy Angel's powerbase. (Meaning they could take over?)
And then I realised that despite Wes and the reader being told that, yes, Angel used to be Angelus, none of have been told *why* that changed. No one has yet mentioned the happiness clause. Which is unusual.
Also, thebratqueen, who normally says something like 'All will be revealed in time' to hypotheses on the letter, made no such comment whatsoever to the person who brought up the clause. It was just the usual 'Thank you :)' deal.
Is she avoiding something? Hmm....

(Sorry, deleted it cos my younger sister has a tendency to show up round here. I am protecting her innocent, hah!, eyes. Or something like that!)
