Well Play.com have cancelled my pre-order for TW series 2. Apparently the advertised £14.99 was a mistake. The actual price is now £37.99 but I'm a cheapskate so I'm going to wait until the price falls again.

*sulks*

I knew that price was too good to be true. But! *brightens* word on the street is that there will be some form of TW series 3. So all is not lost just yet :)

We were discussing this on Monday after the concert and I'd said I wasn't convinced they'd honour any of the orders and of course today they've just presumably sent out hundreds of cancellation orders.

I'll have to have a shop around £37.99 isn't very cheap but they were never going to sell it for £15 that would have been a huge loss leader for them.

Yep, so I suppose no real surprise. I'll be with you waiting for the sales to kick in. Until then, thanks to YouTube, I'll always have the hothouse to tide me over :)

I remember thinking at the time that it was likely to wind up being a misprint - I honestly couldn't quite get my head round how they could afford to be selling the boxsets so much less than the RRP unless they literally hoped sheer volume would make up the difference. At the moment though I can just imagine the horrid moment when the penny dropped and someone realised they'd messed up just a wee bit... :)

I can't really blame Play, it was a bit too low price to be true unless they really did have on hell of a profit last year and were trying to be nice. Ah well.

Come on BBC, tell what exactly Torchwood will be doing next year! *pines* :)

I suppose it's better than them trying to discretely change the bill without telling us. But still. Mew. I was thinking that maybe life really was going to be that nice to me. Ah well.

It would have been much better PR for then to say, "Y'know, we made a mistake with the price, but we're going to honour the orders we have already, and put the price back up for the rest of you." Grrrr...

I am rather inclined to agree :) They certainly would have bagged a shedload of loyal customers, I sure would have remembered for it! I'm guessing that there really were just a few too many of us ordering for them to be able to afford to let so many lovely shiny new boxsets go *sniffle*

I know and still no official word on a third series. It's not even been a week yet and I miss Torchwood :(

Ditto, it's sad not having my weekly TW dose to look forward to. DW ain't bad, and I am rather taken with Donna, but I'll still miss Jack. The lack of official word is rather anxiety inducing, although if you have a look at the third paragraph down of this review of Barrowman's recent Cardiff concert, there is at least reason to have hope! :)
